Skate Smarter. Skate Stronger.

To skate efficiently and with power, it’s essential to push off correctly with your stride leg. Most players start well by using the inside edge to push the ice away, but the final part of your stride is just as important: push through the ball of your foot so your last contact with the ice is the inside toe edge.

This technique maximizes ice contact time, activates the calf muscles, and ensures optimal power transfer from your leg to your foot to the ice.

At ProStride, we help athletes master this skill using treadmill training. By exaggerating the “toe flick” motion at the end of the stride, players build muscle memory while maintaining balance and proper form something that’s very difficult to achieve on the ice during regular practice.

Focusing on this detail can improve your skating efficiency, increase your speed, and boost your power on the ice.

When families notice real change, that’s what matters most.

“We started Prostride this fall with coach Ryan G and to say it has been a game changer is an understatement. Our son plays academy hockey and despite already playing at a high level, the support coach Ryan has provided has increased his confidence which has translated on the ice exponentially. Thanks to coach Ryan we have seen an increase in accuracy and he is now a leading goal scorer on his team.”

Thank you to Steve and Lisa Leavitt for trusting ProStride with your son’s development. We’re proud to be part of his continued growth.
