Please extend a warm welcome to Livleen Kaur as she joins the Aim Fitness team 🎉
Livleen is the owner of Kaurage Movement and joins us with both her Personal Fitness Trainer diploma from NAIT and her Bachelor of Kinesiology degree from the University of Alberta. She is also a CSEP Certified Personal Trainer who has worked in various facilities around the city and spent time during her degree working with faculty members focusing on research in women’s health.
Livleen believes exercise is one of the powerful tools we have to improve our physical health and overall quality of life. Rather than chasing perfection, she helps her clients focus on building consistent habits that support long term success. Her goal is to give clients the knowledge, tools, and support they need to feel strong and capable both inside and outside the gym.
“Exercise is medicine. Fitness shouldn’t take over your life - it should help you live it better. My goal is to help clients create habits that last so movement becomes something they get to do, not something they have to do.” -Livleen K

The message here is simple. If you want to learn, grow and improve, you need to look inward, not outward. Comparison is the theif ofe. The best comparison you can make is to the former version of yourself and asking yourself “am I closer to the person I want to be today, relative to yesterday?”
Someone will always make more money than you.
Someone will always be stronger than you.
Someone will always be skinnier than you.
None of that matters. What matters is what you’re doing to improve yourself and focusing on becoming the best version of yourself. Genuine joy comes during the process of becoming who we are and who we want to be.

Straight out of Denmark with this exercise, the Copenhagen plank is an awesome way to elevate your side planks (literally!). By putting your legs on the bench, your adductors become the primary area of focus, along with your obliques.
3 key’s for Copenhagen Planks
-The further down your leg you go with the bench, the harder it will be
-Think about staying long through your spine
-Stay active with the top leg
Let us know what you think about these ones and stay tuned later this week for 3 variations to get you started!
