We were so incredibly fortunate to have such amazing food provided at our event and for our volunteers by some truly incredible humans!
A huge shoutout to Black Viper for bringing their food truck to the run and keeping everyone fueled!

A very special thank you to Chef Henry — the Jamaican Chef Mon — who came out and flipped pancakes for us! Chef Henry has also done so much for Amy’s House over the years, including supporting our gala events, and we are so grateful for everything he does for our community.

And lastly, a massive thank you to Original Joe’s Heart Cart, who once again provided food for our volunteers at the volunteer wrap-up party! Your continued support means so much to us.

We are incredibly lucky to have such wonderful people around us who take care of our runners and volunteers — the amazing people who give their time, energy, and hearts to help keep Amy’s House operating by joining and supporting our events.

Sometimes I sit back in awe that what started as a small flicker of hope amidst our grief, has turned into a force so much bigger than we ever imagined.

This is not just our story anymore. This race has been adopted by the 50km racer who stayed in Amy’s House two years ago, the half marathoner who’s family got to stay together last year during treatment, the cancer survivor that ran 50k after a mastectomy this summer, the families and friends that ran in the wake of their own grief, the 6 year old that sprinted the last few meters of her first ever 5k while we all cheered, the finishers who didn’t know if they could, and now believe they can.

The gentleman that was walking by race site, and passed me a cash donation, unable to speak through his tears.

He’s got a story I’m sure.

So from the bottom of our hearts.

Thank you. Thank you for being a part of the big, beautiful, messy, sweaty story of Run On.

Together, we’ve raised $27 000 and counting.

It’s not too late to donate to keep this story going.

When she came to package pickup with her mom, I asked if she was doing the 5k 🤦🏼‍♀️
Unfazed, she announced she was doing the 50k.
And she is 13.
I suggested she run with her phone so she could call if she got lost or needed help.
She said she doesn’t have a phone yet.

Fast forward to the finish line, where she flew through, and kept going for a few 100m for a Garmin finish.

And she won. The whole thing.

This girl. She’s unstoppable.

Congrats to Elin Simpson. Age 13. Overall winner of the 50km at Run On 2026!

What an incredible day at Run On for Amy’s House!
Thank you to everyone who came out today to run, enjoy the beautiful weather, and help raise valuable funds for Amy’s House. Your support, energy, and generosity made the day truly special.

It was a perfect day for an amazing cause, and we are so grateful to each and every one of you who helped make it happen.

Thank you for showing up, running with us, and supporting Amy’s House!

Today we share the day with the Terry Fox Run.
Ironically, in 2017, Amy and I spent a wonderful day in Port Coquitlam painting a mural to celebrate Terry Fox, alongside Terry’s sister, Judith.
We probably didn’t realize it at the time, but there was a good chance that Amy was already living with lung cancer. Her symptoms began less than five months after meeting Judith, and less than two years later, we had lost our beautiful Amy.
Sunday will be a very special day, as it is every year. Not only do we honour Terry and Amy, but we also remember all those who have lost a loved one to this cruel disease.
So many people will run with broken hearts, but also with optimism for better days ahead—with hope for a cure, and for earlier detection so that fewer families have to experience this kind of loss.
To everyone who comes out to run in honour of someone they’ve lost, to support someone they love, or simply to make a difference: thank you so much.
It’s going to be a beautiful day, and a very special one in so many ways.
For Terry. For Amy. For all those we’ve lost. And for all those still fighting. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who is running with us this year, and a very special thank you to these incredible artists for sharing their beautiful work and helping make this year’s medals so meaningful.

The Run On crew was lucky enough to spend the day caring for racers out at at the Porcupine Aid Station.

The weather was great, the smiles were big and the recorder tunes were rocking.

Yes. You read that right. 🤣
