Live music both nights this weekend, and Swing 1 starts on Monday and Wednesday! The next 2 weekends of social dances has some great features:

Fri. Sept 18 - LIVE MUSIC: Cam Neufeld Quartet ft. Billi Z**i ($25). Hot club swing, which is great for Lindy Hop, Balboa and some blues.

Sat. Sept 19 - LIVE MUSIC: High Society Big Band ($35). We are collaborating with the Trad Jazz Society to bring you the High Society Little Big Band!

Sept 21 & 23 - Swing 1 begins. No partner needed and no experience needed - register at the link in bio.

Fri. Sept 25 - Sparkle & Shine, with a DJ feature on Lionel Hampton. Wear something that catches the light!

Sat. Sept 26 - Improv Performances. Come enjoy performances... totally improvised!

Oct 1, 2, 3, 4: Lindy Harvest!!! Be sure to come to come to 1 or more nights for our biggest party of the year!

Sept 25 and 26 are regular nights, $14 admission + $2 lesson.

Edmonton, meet Megan!! ✨ A longtime Canadian dancer who’s explored a variety of styles and dance scenes, Megan brings years of experience and a wealth of knowledge to the dance floor. We’re so excited to have her joining us at Lindy Harvest, and we can’t wait for you to meet her!

Megan will be joining Kofi to anchor our Beginner Track while also teaching select classes in our higher-level tracks.

Bio: Megan has been dancing from about the time she could walk. She grew up studying ballet and related styles in her hometown of Saskatoon and, upon relocating to Montréal in 2016, discovered the incredible world of swing. A lifelong lover of jazz music, she quickly became enamoured with the dances of Vernacular Jazz, Lindy Hop, Balboa, and Tap.
Megan became a teacher at Cat’s Corner in Montréal in 2018, and has since become a central member of the educational team. She loves to share her passion with others and ignite their spark for jazz. Megan upholds the tradition of the Chorus Line style of vernacular jazz at Cat’s Corner. She is proud to be able to share this passionate work by performing around Montréal, and at notable events like Lindy Focus, Montréal Swing Riot, and ILHC.

In her personal practice and in her teaching she prioritizes expression, connection, and rhythm. She finds inspiration in learning from the elders of the dance and the music, as well as in other dance forms of the African diaspora.

Free beginner swing class this week! Try before you buy.

Sun. Sept 13 - 4:45pm
Mon. Sept 14 - 6:30pm
Wed. Sept 16 - 7:30pm

This is a real class, not a demo! You'll pick up both 6-count and 8-count rhythms, a move or two, and enough to walk into the series already knowing something. Swing 1 officially starts the week of Sept 20, so this week is a genuine head start.

Never danced before? That's typical for Swing 1. Just show up at the door to sign up, or email [email protected] and let us know you're coming. You don't need a partner, but bring one anyway!
