The school is under the direction of Merv Bell, Patti Bell, Jessica Bell and Rebecca Bell. Mattierin Irish Dance offers high-level competitive programs.
Our goal at Mattierin is to teach Irish dance to the best of each dancer’s ability and give them the skills needed to compete and perform at their highest level. Dancers of the school in the competitive programs compete in both teams and solos at the World Championship level while doing many performances throughout the year. 🌟ADDISON LOCKWOOD ~ NAIDC 2026🌟
Not quite the week Addie had worked hard for…
A broken foot in the last solo class before Nationals meant no U16 solos, no 4-hand and no 8-hand…but absolutely nothing was keeping her off the team.
Coach Addie, Cross Reel captain, manager of the minis, professional pep talk, pharmacist, make up artist, and somehow everywhere she was needed all week. She showed up for every dancer, every team and every big moment with the same heart she would have brought to the stage.
Her last major with Mattierin looked different, and instead of on the stage, she was in everyone’s corner and the team couldn’t have done it without her. 🫶🏼
We’re going to miss this one an unreasonable amount. 💚🌴

🌟TARA MELNYCHUK ~ 46th Ladies U19🌟
A very full and fabulous week for Tara, 46th in U19, 3rd place in the Ladies 8-hand O19, 7th in the Ladies 4-hand U19, and recipient of the Western Canadian IDTANA Scholarship, sponsored by Northwest Designs. 🎓🤩
Plenty of dancing, two trips to the box, a stunning new dress, and one very well-earned recognition for everything she brings both on and off the stage.

🌟KARA CAMPBELL ~ 42nd Ladies U18🌟
Kara wrapped up her week with a strong 42nd-place finish in U18, a fabulous 3rd in the Ladies 8-hand O19 and 5th in the Ladies O19 4-hand.
A lot of dancing, a lot of team, and a very Kara way of getting on with all of it ~ calmly, properly, and with an “it’s fine” somewhere along the way.
