Volunteer Appreciation Spotlight: Carey Monteith from K - J BOWL

Carey’s achievements as a coach go far beyond his 12 years of dedication to youth bowling. Every Saturday morning, he is a consistent and familiar face at the lanes, bringing encouragement, knowledge, patience, and plenty of fun to the kids he coaches.

Perhaps the best measure of Carey’s impact is that the kids actually fight over who gets to have him as their coach each week! When Carey isn’t there, his absence is genuinely noticed and usually questioned by more than a few disappointed bowlers.

What makes his commitment even more special is that Carey continues to coach despite not having a child of his own in the program. He shows up simply because he cares about the sport, the program, and, most importantly, the kids.

After 12 years, Carey isn’t just a coach—he’s become an important part of the YBC experience, and his continued dedication is incredibly appreciated.
