I dedicate this post to my son James, 1998-2024.
What a feeling! My first Track event. I competed in the Individual Pursuit. Got 2nd…there were two of us. 😎🚴
A few thanks:
To my coach Alex Stieda OLY for taking me from running shoes and an old biking kit to pursuit-ready with all the aerodynamics possible! And for continually reminding me to trust the process (sounds familiar).
To all my buds Alberta Velodrome Association that put up with my childlike passion for the Track. I admire each one of you and the inspiration you give me to dig deep.
To all the volunteers, Calgary Bicycle Track League, commissaries, timers, monitors, parents, and all the other important roles I am just learning, a big thank you for your time.
To my hubby Paul Lanteigne and son j_lanteigne for opening every single annoying text message I send and sharing my day at the track. I hope you'll keep nodding "ah-huh" or giving thumbs-up emojis to my cycling gibberish because it makes me so happy.
To my family and friends who encouraged me in the highs and lows of training (it was a lot!) and came out to cheer me on.
To my clients CARMEN LANTEIGNE | Teacher of Joseph Pilates Method, who made accommodations for my training and listened to me talk about how great Joe’s work translates to my aero position. I am still amazed at how my body made such strides in such a short time.
To God, by your grace I found the courage and strength to push through the aches, tears and efforts. I loved every minute of you carrying me!
And lastly, I want to thank Carmen for picking yourself up after the loss of your son, James. In the beginning, you rode so as not to follow him to the grave, and today you ride because it brings YOU joy.
For anyone suffering profound loss, addiction and mental health issues, there only needs to be a mustard seed of hope. Keep the faith; there's always hope. You can do really hard things.

Contrology teaches me something with every practice.
The Overhead exercise teaches me how to stabilize my Center. I'm so happy for a few repetitions so I can learn what parts of my Center I need to stabilize through the action. Of rolling over so as not to strain my long flexible neck 🦒
The Long Stretch exercise teaches me to connect with my Center so I feel powerful and at ease in this movement (even though inside I am working hard!) 💪🏻
Oh, the Teaser! The Teaser teaches me how to figure out how to go from lying on my back, to up and then balancing whilst doing some fancy arms. ☺️
There's something to learn from each practice.
Enjoy the dreamy winter jazz in the background. 🤗 🩷❄️⛄.

A great teacher of mine Jay Grimes has passed away.
Jay shared with me and others the work he learned from his experience with Joseph and Clara Pilates, but more importantly, I learned from him how to find my true self in the work.
The Jayism that always helps me when I'm in and out of the studio is “there’s hope”.
Rest in peace, Jay.
Sending love to Sandy and all my vintage community.
Let us continue with Joe’s work. Jay would want that. 🩷

I am so sad about the news of Jasper. 💔🔥🌲🏔️
Our family has enjoyed 30 plus years of tripping to Jasper and the surrounding area, particularly Maligne Lake and Marmot ski resort.
Our friends have lost their homes, possessions, and livelihood to the devastation of the wildfires happening right now in Jasper town and area.
We are praying for our Jasper friends and feel such a sadness.

Interested in becoming a Pilates Teacher?
THE PROGRAM™ Pilates Teacher Training, located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and in Kuwait City is led by second-generation teachers Carmen Lanteigne and Noor Alamer.
WHY CHOOSE TO STUDY WITH US?
It takes years of practice to understand the work of Joseph Pilates, and the aspiration of becoming a teacher can be an exciting and ambitious endeavour.
As a preliminary study of Joseph Pilates’ work, The Program™ Pilates Teacher Training is designed to give the student a strong foundation of the curriculum in the body first, so that the teacher within will evolve with time.
The Program™ Pilates Teacher Training is strategically designed to introduce the exercises and progressions in the body, allowing students to grow stronger, develop stamina, and find a learning pace that is their own.
The best way to start a career as a Pilates teacher is to have the work confidently in the body. The Program™ Pilates Teacher Training guides students who are interested in carrying on Joe's work into the next generation.
Interested? DM us and visit our website. The program study begins in January 2025 and requires an assessment audition.
