The Junior Grand Prix is underway in Bangkok, Thailand!

Lia Cho is making her Junior Grand Prix debut and is off to a strong start!

Lia earned 66.72 points in the short program, putting her in 3rd place heading into the free skate -- less than four points behind the current leader Sumika Kanazawa of Japan!

We're also sending a special Section shoutout to some familiar faces competing on the JGP stage!

The leaves aren’t the only things changing this Fall…there’s another group of new CanSkate Coaches ready to FALL into the next step of their coaching pathway! By popular demand (and a pretty impressive waitlist), another CanSkate Coach Course was offered in Edmonton this past weekend which was full of:

F-Foundations - Building strong coaching skills
A-Active Learning - Learning, sharing,& trying new ideas
L-Leading - Developing confidence on the ice
L- Learning by doing - Putting new coaching skills into action!

A big THANK YOU to the CanSkaters from Ice Palace Figure Skating Club and Extreme Edge Skating Club who came out to help the new coaches practise their newly learned skills.

🧠 September is Concussion Awareness Month.

Concussions aren’t always visible—and symptoms can be different for everyone. After a fall, collision or impact, knowing the signs and speaking up can make all the difference.

If something doesn’t feel right:
🛑 Stop the activity
🗣️ Tell a coach, parent or trusted adult
🩺 Get checked by a qualified healthcare professional
⏳ Take the time needed to recover safely

When in doubt, sit it out. No practice, performance or competition is more important than your health.
