Scottish Country Dancing is a form of social dancing that involves three or more couples dancing in organized formations called “sets.” Scottish Country Dancing is not to be confused with Scottish Highland Dancing which is a solo form of dance. Scottish Country dances are categorized a jigs, reels and Strathspeys according the music to which they are dances. Jigs and reels a lively dances that feature a quick tempo whereas the Strathspey is more stately with a slower tempo.

Hello Ellerslie Dancers,

Our first-class night will be Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at 7 PM for a get-together before we start social dancing at 7:30. You can bring a friend, and bring along either wine & cheese, or cookies & cake, tea and coffee will be supplied.
We ask you to bring your own drinking cup, glass or water bottle.

(The entrance gate for the Scottish Hall is at 3126 Ewing Trail SW - on the soccer dome side).

I do hope we will see many of you come back this year. If you have any questions let me know.

April 25/23 will be our last night of dance till the fall
We will be having appetizers and wine at 6:30 with regular dancing at 7:30 So bring an appetizer and whatever you want to drink.
Tea and coffee will be available as usual
