𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗖𝗧𝗢𝗥 𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗧𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 - 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗿 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗕𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘆

I was born and raised in Taber, Alberta, before moving to Lethbridge at 17 to attend college and university. While completing my business degree, I began exploring martial arts through boxing and wrestling.

In 1999, I moved to Edmonton to pursue my accounting designation and began training Taekwondo under Master Simon Chung. I became a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) in 2002 and earned my First Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo in 2003, later becoming an instructor.

In 2004, I began studying Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Shoot Wrestling under Professor Mike Yackulic while also undergoing Olympic Team Training in Taekwondo. I earned my Second Degree Taekwondo Black Belt in 2006 and Black Rank in Shoot Wrestling in 2008.

After more than a decade of training, competing and eight years of instructing, I co-opened Arashi-Do Martial Arts West Edmonton in May 2009. The school went on to earn multiple Best Martial Arts Studio and Top Choice awards.

I earned my Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt under Mestre Sylvio Behring in 2013 and my CPA designation in 2015. In 2016, we expanded to Arashi-Do West Edmonton: Mayfield.

I continue to pursue growth both as a martial artist and instructor, earning my 1st Degree BJJ Black Belt in 2017, 2nd Degree in 2020 and 3rd Degree in 2022.
