The Maple Leaf Athletic Club (MLAC) is currently seeking enthusiastic, dependable, and organized individuals to serve as Team Trainers for the upcoming hockey season.
As a Team Trainer, you will play an important role in supporting the health, safety, and well-being of our players while working closely with the coaching staff and team management.
Responsibilities
Attend team practices, games, and tournaments.
Provide basic first aid and immediate care for injuries.
Maintain and organize the team’s first aid kit and medical supplies.
Ensure all player medical information and emergency contacts are current.
Complete injury reports and maintain medical documentation when required.
Assist with player preparation, including basic taping and equipment checks.
Monitor player health, hydration, and overall wellness.
Support Hockey Alberta concussion recognition and return-to-play protocols.
Work collaboratively with coaches, team managers, and parents.
Help maintain a safe and positive environment for all players.
Qualifications
Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification (required or willingness to obtain).
Hockey Canada Safety Program (HCSP) certification (or willingness to complete).
Respect in Sport – Activity Leader certification.
Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Previous hockey, athletic training, medical, or emergency response experience is considered an asset but is not required.
