We’re also excited to unveil some fresh renovations, including brand-new lighting installed by our own Andrew Pohl. Andrew, thank you for the time and craftsmanship — the space feels brighter and better than ever thanks to you.

Congratulations, Senpai Amy — Nidan! 🥋
Today we celebrate a milestone 14 years in the making. On August 2nd at the IKOKC Summer Camp, Senpai Amy officially earned her rank of Nidan (2nd degree black belt) after completing the demanding 20-man kumite — twenty consecutive fights that test everything a karateka is made of: spirit, endurance, technique, and heart.
Fourteen years on the dojo floor. Thousands of hours of training. Countless early mornings, late nights, bruises, and breakthroughs. And on that camp floor, in front of the wider Kyokushin family, all of it came together in one unforgettable performance.
Amy, you are an inspiration to every student who steps through our doors — from the youngest OSU! Kids who look up at you in awe, to the adults who train beside you and feel your quiet strength push them further. You lead by example. You show up. You never stop growing. You embody what Kyokushin is truly about.
I could not be more proud of what you have accomplished. This rank is not given — it is earned, one fight, one kata, one bow at a time. You have earned every bit of it.
