Ghost Bike Ride this Thursday.

We're putting together a ghost bike in memory of Alfred Reisdorf, who was killed while crossing 34th Street at 28A Avenue on November 23rd, 2025.

The cycling community is invited to ride with Alfred's family and us when we take the bike to the scene of the crash on Thursday, July 9th. We will leave Bike Edmonton Downtown at 10:30am, and meet up with more riders at Millwoods LRT station at 11:30am.

If you're out enjoying the reprieve from the rain today, please remember to yield to ducks enjoying an earthworm buffet on flooded shared use paths.

The west side remains open.

Heads up! The east side of the High Level Bridge will be closed due to erosion on the southeast approach from the recent rains. The west side will remain open.

🚧 Traffic Advisory: High Level Bridge 🚧

On June 25, the High Level Bridge will be reduced to one lane from 10 am to 2 pm.

The temporary lane closure is required to allow crews to complete roadway and sidewalk inspections.

This work is being completed as a precaution after recent heavy rains and ahead of further forecasted heavy rainfall expected later this weekend.

Drivers should plan ahead and anticipate delays while crossing the bridge during this time. Pedestrian access will remain open.

Learn to repair a flat tire and turn the most common ride-ending mishap into no problem at all!

This clinic invites women and people of other genders who have not traditionally been a dominant part of bike repair spaces to use our workshop to learn a fundamental repair skill.

In this casual evening facilitated by volunteers who are women or gender diverse, you'll practice:

how to remove & reinstall your bike's wheels

how to find leaks and patch a tube

how to remove & reinstall a bicycle tire, and how to inspect a tire for damage

The repair evening runs from 6:00pm until 9:00pm and you are welcome to use any of that time to learn to fix a flat. Pre-registration is required but there is no fixed time you need to be there to start.

Here's some of the bikes that are ready to go for tomorrow's sale!

Sale starts at 11am, Saturday May 16th, in the Bike Edmonton Parking lot, 10612 105 Ave.

Please dress for the weather - it's going to be a bit chilly.

We will have adult bikes in sizes XS through Large. There will be bikes to fit most teenagers and taller tweens, but there won't be any kids' bikes with 24" wheels or smaller. Our volunteers can help you choose the right size and style of bike for your needs.

There will be a wide selection of rigid mountain bikes, hardtails, and hybrids from the 1980s to 2010s. Most of the fully refurbished bikes (green tags) are between $300 and $400. The quick-tune bikes (yellow tags) tuned up by our volunteers are mostly between $100 and $200. We take debit, cash, visa & mastercard.

We encourage you to take transit or bike/scooter share to our sale and ride your new bike home! Nearby parking is limited, so please follow all signage & regulations, and be kind to our neighbours. We are conveniently located a block from MacEwan LRT station, and there are park and ride lots at other LRT stations.

We will have locks, bells, lights, helmets, and other basic accessories for sale. For accessories that are more time consuming to install, like fenders, racks, and kickstand, we ask that you return to the shop during regular hours to select and install.

We look forward to seeing you Saturday!
