In honour of National Coaches Week, a little Friday appreciation for the people who voluntarily put themselves in charge of a whole group of hockey kids. 😂

Practices to plan, lines to juggle, laces to tie, water bottles to find, parents to communicate with… and somehow, in the middle of all of it, you’re helping our kids learn the game, build confidence, be good teammates and have a whole lot of fun.

With another big evaluation weekend ahead and new teams about to come together, thank you to everyone who has already put their hand up to coach this season — and everyone who is about to. 🖤💛

We appreciate you more than you know.

Happy National Coaches Week, Hawks!

Hawks Parents Guide to Evaluations

Evaluations can bring a few nerves for our players. And let’s be real, for parents too. So we’ve put together a quick guide to what you need to know and how you can help make the experience a positive one for your player.

Check the skate time, get them to the rink ready to go, cheer them on and let them play. The evaluators will take care of the evaluating. 🖤💛

Swipe through before you head to the rink, and for all the evaluation details, check out our website. https://hawksathletics.ca/evaluations/

See you at the rink! 🏒

Three cheers for COACH LYLE!

For the past two weeks, our U9, U11 and U13 players have been back at the rink, shaking off the summer rust, working hard and getting ready for the season ahead.

But none of it happens without the people behind the bench.

A HUGE THANK YOU to LYLE for the endless hours he put into planning and running these camps, showing up day after day for every age group and helping our Hawks get back into hockey mode.

And to the assistant coaches who joined him on the ice throughout the two weeks — thank you for giving your time, energy and expertise to our players.

Lyle, we know how much goes into making two weeks like this happen, and we cannot thank you enough. We’re incredibly lucky to have you as part of the Hawks. 🖤💛

🏒 U11 FAMILIES — PATHWAY SKATE SIGN-UP IS OPEN!

Before evaluations get underway, U11 players have the option to hit the ice for two U11 Player Pathway development skates, September 8–11.

So… what exactly are Pathway Skates?

They’re development skates, NOT evaluations. They are an opportunity to get back on the ice, work on skills, shake off a little summer rust and get comfortable with full ice before evaluations begin.

Players will be divided into four groups, with each group receiving two skates:

📅 Tuesday, Sept. 8 – Groups 1 & 2
📅 Wednesday, Sept. 9 – Groups 3 & 4
📅 Thursday, Sept. 10 – Groups 1 & 2
📅 Friday, Sept. 11 – Groups 3 & 4

👉 Sign up for your player's Pathway group here:

Please note that dates, times and arena assignments remain subject to change.

A couple of extra ice times, some familiar faces and a chance to get those hockey legs moving again... September is getting close, Hawks! 🖤💛
