Thursday spotlight looks a little different this week.

This one is for our coaches.

To every head coach and assistant across our Hawks teams — thank you! For the time you give, for showing up, for being there for our kids in ways that matter. This is volunteer work, and yet you treat it like it matters. That says a lot.

You don’t just coach your own player. You show up for the whole team. You get to know them, support them, and stick with them through all of it. That’s what makes this club feel the way it does.

This week’s Hawks Player Spotlight goes to Kane Ochiese from Hawks 304.

Kane has made his mark through commitment and effort from the moment he joined the team. Even though he stepped in a little later than some of his teammates, he never missed a beat. He shows up ready, works hard, and keeps finding ways to grow his game. The progress from his first skate to now has been incredible to watch.

From the coach:
“Kane has truly embodied our team motto and what we stand for. He committed fully from day one and has grown tremendously over the season. He’s a player we trust in any situation, whether we need a spark offensively, help defensively, or someone to step into net. Kane leads quietly, puts in the work, and makes a difference every shift. The coaching staff is incredibly proud of him and excited to see what’s next.”

Kane cheers for the Edmonton Oilers and fuels up with teriyaki chicken and rice when it’s time to recharge.

We’re proud to spotlight Kane this week and recognize the determination and heart he brings to Hawks 304 every time he hits the ice. 🖤💛

HAWKS PLAYOFF HOCKEY – WEEKEND TWO

Round robin playoffs continue across the city this weekend and our Hawks teams are back on the ice starting tonight!

Two games kick things off Friday night, and Saturday and Sunday are packed with Hawks playoff action.

If you’re looking for some great hockey this weekend, check the schedule, find a rink near you, and come cheer on your fellow Hawks teams! There is nothing better than seeing Hawks families filling the stands and supporting one another.

Let’s bring the energy, bring the noise, and keep the playoff momentum rolling.

This week’s Hawks Player Spotlight goes to Sam Foster from Hawks 405.

Sam is one of those players who simply loves being at the rink. He loves being with his teammates, loves the game, and brings a contagious excitement every time he hits the ice. What makes Sam special is the way he celebrates the success of the team just as much as his own.

Sam only began his hockey journey in the summer of 2025, and the growth in his game since then has been incredible to watch. He has put in the work at practice and spent extra time developing his skills. That dedication is paying off. After scoring his first goal earlier this season, Sam recently hit another milestone with his very first hat trick — a moment his whole team was thrilled to celebrate with him.

From the coach:
“Sam is a big part of the team. He motivates teammates to rally back for a big win or buckle down to protect our house through a well timed positive comment or leading by example. There's a reason he was the first winner of the motivation mullet!”

Sam brings leadership, encouragement, and a true love for the game to Hawks 405. We’re proud to spotlight him this week and celebrate the energy he brings to our Hawks family. 🖤💛
