A special moment in my Jiu-Jitsu journey.

While training in Las Vegas with my professor, Rafael Domingos, I had the honour of receiving my first Dan stripe on my black belt.

This stripe represents a lot more than time on the mat. It represents years of training, learning, sacrifice, friendship, and the relationship between a student and his professor. Rafael and I have known each other for many years, and I’m incredibly grateful for his guidance, his knowledge, and the trust he has placed in me.

To my students at Shogun Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu — never stop being a student. No matter what belt you wear or how long you’ve been training, there is always another level to reach and something more to learn.

I’ll continue bringing that knowledge back to our mats in Edmonton and passing it forward to each of you.

Thank you, Professor Rafael. Much respect and appreciation. 🥋🙏

Great class tonight at Shōgun Jiu-Jitsu! 🥋

We kept things focused on the fundamentals defence system then moved onto some guard pulls, takedowns, light sparring from half guard, full guard, side control, knee-on-belly, mount, and finished with a submission.

Great energy, great training, and a solid night on the mats.

Beginners are always welcome. No experience needed—just show up and train. Tuesday nights 6:30-8:00pm
