🚨 Winnipeg Uber Incident – Stay Alert, Drivers! 🚨

A new Uber driver in Winnipeg had a terrifying experience. While heading to the pickup location, he saw a man standing on the roadside waving his hand. Thinking he was the rider, the driver pulled over beside him but wisely kept his doors locked.

The man started walking around the vehicle, checking each window. Suddenly, he pulled out a gun. Thankfully, the driver was paying close attention, immediately drove away, and reported the incident to Uber.

This is an important reminder for every driver: Always stay alert. Never unlock your doors until you’ve confirmed it’s the correct rider. If anything feels suspicious or unsafe, cancel the trip and leave the area immediately. No ride is worth risking your life. Stay safe and trust your instincts.

🚨 Another Uber incident that every driver should know about.

On a Saturday night, an Uber driver picked up a drunk rider whose destination was a farmhouse on a range road. When they arrived, the rider told the driver to go inside the property and drop him at the driveway. The driver confirmed twice, and the rider clearly said to drive in.

After the rider was dropped off, he suddenly became aggressive and asked, “How did you come onto my property?” He tried to pull the driver’s window down, but thankfully the doors were locked. As soon as the driver felt it was safe, he left the property, immediately reported the incident to Uber, and submitted the dashcam footage.

The next day, the driver was shocked to find a report on his account for threatening comments. He contacted Uber again, explained the entire situation, and sent the videos once more. Uber reviewed the footage and confirmed it was not the driver’s fault, saying they would change the report to Poor Service and that his account would not be at risk.

But here’s the question: if the driver did nothing wrong and had video proof, why should he still receive a Poor Service report and a lower rating?

Stay safe, always keep your doors locked in risky situations, and use a dashcam—it can protect your account and your livelihood.

🚨 Uber Driver Scam Alert! 🚨

Last week alone, I spoke with 10 Uber drivers who received scam calls from people pretending to be from Uber.

The scammers asked for the last 4 digits of the driver’s licence number and the one-time verification (OTP) code sent to the driver’s phone. Once they get this information, they can easily take control of your Uber account.

Remember:
âś… Uber will never ask you to share your OTP.
âś… Uber generally contacts drivers through the app or by email for important account matters.
âś… Never share your verification code or personal information with anyone over the phone.

Stay smart, stay alert, and don’t fall into the scammers’ trap. Share this video with other Uber drivers to help keep everyone safe.

🚨 Another Uber Driver Account Put on Hold Due to a False Complaint! 🚨

An Uber driver’s account was suddenly placed on hold without any warning. When he contacted Uber, he was only told that a complaint had been filed, but no details could be shared until the investigation was complete.

Two days later, Uber’s investigation team called and informed him that a rider had reported he was driving under the influence of alcohol, claiming he was driving dangerously throughout the trip.

The driver then remembered the ride. It was a young man from his own community. They had a friendly conversation for the entire trip, and everything seemed normal. He never expected that rider to file such a serious complaint.

The driver explained that he had already been driving for nearly 10 hours that day. If he had really been intoxicated, how could he have completed so many trips before that? Despite his explanation, Uber had immediately put his account on hold because safety-related complaints are treated very seriously.

Lesson for all drivers: Never assume a rider won’t report you just because they seem friendly or belong to the same community. Always stay professional, follow Uber’s policies, and remember that anyone can file a complaint.

🚨 Another Uber incident every driver should hear.

An Uber driver picked up a family from the airport. At the beginning of the trip, the driver was simply checking the navigation when the female rider told him not to use his phone. Halfway through the ride, the couple started arguing with each other, using abusive language. Their children began crying and repeatedly kicked the driver’s seat very hard.

For everyone’s safety, the driver pulled over and said he was going to end the trip. The male rider apologized and requested that the driver complete the ride, so the driver agreed and dropped the family off at their destination.

As they got out, the female rider slammed the driver’s door so hard that it damaged the window, which no longer opened properly. On top of that, they later reported the driver to Uber for unsafe driving and distracted driving.

Please remember: if your driver treats you with respect, treat them with the same respect. A little kindness goes a long way, and false complaints or damaging someone’s vehicle can have serious consequences.

🚨 Another Uber driver account has been permanently deactivated. 🚨

A driver accepted cash from a rider after the rider canceled the trip in the app. Once the rider got home, they reported to Uber that the driver asked them to cancel the ride and pay in cash instead. Uber immediately deactivated the driver’s account, and all three of the driver’s appeals were denied.

This is a reminder to all drivers: don’t risk your livelihood for a little extra money. If driving is your full-time job, always follow Uber’s policies. Even if a rider agrees to pay cash at the time, they can still report the trip later, and you could lose your account.

Stay safe, follow the rules, and protect your income.

🚨 Another Uber Driver Account Deactivated! 🚨

A driver tried to be helpful by waiting 12 minutes after the rider messaged, “I’m coming.” The rider still didn’t show up, so the driver canceled the trip. Moments later, the rider arrived, but the driver had already left.

Two weeks later, the rider reported to Uber that the driver had hit them and drove away. Since the complaint came after two weeks, the driver no longer had the dashcam footage to defend himself. His appeal was denied, and his account was deactivated.

Advice for drivers: Follow the app’s waiting time. If the rider doesn’t show up, cancel the trip, collect the cancellation fee if you’re eligible, and move on to the next ride. Waiting much longer than required can sometimes expose you to unnecessary risks.

🚨 Uber Warning for Drivers! 🚨

Uber is sending warnings to many drivers regarding route manipulation. Uber calculates trip fares based on the route shown in the app. If a driver regularly takes a different route on their own to save time, save fuel, or increase earnings, Uber may flag the account for violating platform rules.

Uber understands that riders sometimes request a different route, and that’s generally not the driver’s fault. However, consistently choosing your own route without rider direction can lead to warnings and may even result in loss of platform access.

âś… Follow the route provided by the app whenever possible.
âś… If a rider requests a different route, make sure it is at their instruction.
❌ Don’t make a habit of changing routes just to save fuel or earn extra money.

A few extra dollars today aren’t worth risking your Uber account tomorrow.
