If I had to lose 20lbs from scratch, these are the mistakes I wouldn’t make 👇🏼
1. Trying to lose weight fast
2. Not prioritizing protein intake
3. Cutting foods out, instead of focusing on moderation
4. Not prioritizing daily movement (increased TDEE)
5. Forgetting to track other forms of progress outside of the scale
6. I would stop “restarting” every Monday because I gave up on myself

One thing that’s kept me consistent in my fitness and weight loss journey: keeping the promises I make to myself.
I once heard in a YouTube clip, if you wouldn’t cancel on a friend, why cancel on yourself? That perspective stuck.
It’s so easy, especially as women, to pour into everyone else first. But when you’re not feeling your best, it shows up everywhere ; in your energy, your mindset, and how you show up for the people you love.
Taking care of yourself isn’t selfish, it’s necessary.
Choose your hard 💞
One of the most important parts of a successful weight loss journey is finding alternatives to your favorite foods that offer better macro and micronutrient profiles. For example, when I’m craving pizza, I’ll make a higher protein version at home instead of ordering out.
I’ve always loved sour candy, so trying this version of Built Bars was a first for me ; and honestly, it’s a game changer. At just 150 calories and 18g of protein, they don’t have that typical protein or whey aftertaste. If you want it to feel even more like candy, you can cut them into smaller pieces. They’ve got the perfect balance of sour and sweet.
