Le Blizzard et les Timberwolves s’échangent les droits de trois joueurs

EDMUNDSTON, Nouveau-Brunswick – Le Blizzard d’Edmundston et les Timberwolves de Miramichi ont conclu un échange impliquant trois joueurs et des choix conditionnels.
Le Blizzard obtient les droits de l’attaquant Anthony Dontigny et un choix conditionnel de deuxième ronde lors du repêchage de 2027 en retour des droits de Luka Romaniak, Dimitri Bélanger ainsi que des choix conditionnels de 2e et de 4e tours au repêchage de 2028 ainsi que des considérations futures.
Aux dires du directeur général du Blizzard, Steve MacPherson, Dontigny est un patineur élite et un joueur avec de multiples talents. Le joueur de 18 ans de Shawinigan, au Québec, a entamé la saison 2025-2026 dans la BCHL (équipe junior de la Colombie-Britannique) avec les Warriors de West Kelowna, disputant 20 matchs et obtenant une passe. Après les fêtes, il a fait le saut dans la LHJMQ avec l’Océanic de Rimouski avec qui il a joué 26 rencontres avec l’Océanic de Rimouski, récoltant un but et cinq passes. Il a été réclamé au 5e tour (80e) par les Cataractes de Shawinigan lors du repêchage de la LHJMQ en 2024. Dontigny s’est déjà entendu avec la Cornell University afin de poursuivre sa carrière dans la NCAA – division 1 en 2028-2029 à la suite de son stage junior.
Le défenseur Luka Romaniak, 18 ans de l’Ile-Bizard, au Québec, a disputé 25 matchs avec l’Océanic la saison dernière, amassant un but et deux mentions d’aide. Il a été un choix de 12e ronde (201e) lors de l’encan de la LHJMQ en 2024. Quant à Dimitri Bélanger, 17 ans de Moncton, il a été le premier choix du Blizzard (9e) lors du repêchage de la LHM en 2025 et un choix de 12e tour (208e) des Remparts de Québec en 2025. La saison dernière, il a pris part à 38 parties avec l’équipe midget des Flyers de Moncton, inscrivant 10 buts et 18 passes.

The Blizzard and the Timberwolves trade: three players involved
EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick – The Edmundston Blizzard and the Miramichi Timberwolves have completed a trade involving three players and conditional picks.
The Blizzard acquires the rights to forward Anthony Dontigny and a conditional second-round pick in the 2027 draft in exchange for the rights to Luka Romaniak and Dimitri Bélanger, as well as conditional second and fourth-round picks in the 2028 draft and future considerations.
According to Blizzard General Manager Steve MacPherson, Dontigny is an elite skater and will be a big contributor in all aspects. The 18-year-old from Shawinigan, Quebec, began the 2025-2026 season in the BCHL (British Columbia junior league) with the West Kelowna Warriors, playing 20 games and recording one assist. After the holiday break, he made the jump to the QMJHL with the Rimouski Océanic, playing 26 games and tallying one goal and five assists. He was selected in the fifth round (80th overall) by the Shawinigan Cataractes in the 2024 QMJHL draft. Dontigny has already committed to Cornell University to continue his career in NCAA Division I starting in the 2028-2029 season, following his junior career.
