Due to the cooler weather and reduced traffic, Q's Float Shop is officially closed for the season, effective immediately.

Last weekend of the season for Q's Float Shop! We are open Friday - Monday! Come by for all your floating supplies and snacks! Say goodbye to our fantastic summer students. It's been a great season! :)

We are still seeing people on the Shuswap River on all vessel types (inflatables/kayaks/paddle boards).
Water levels are low so we do recommend a paddle to help stay in the deeper sections.
The Visitor Centre hours will be going back to our fall hours as of September 2 (Monday to Friday 10:00 am to 3:00 pm).
Water temperatures are dropping with the cooler air temperatures.

Water levels are lower than usual for this time of year so the river current is moving slow. There have still been a number of water incidents with people being caught in snags and trees resulting in rescues. With the low water levels debris on the bottom of the river is exposed and you can easily get caught if you are not paying attention.

Swimming, floating, boating, and paddling on the Shuswap River is at your own risk and discretion.

If you are planning to go on the Shuswap River on inflatables, a few things to note in addition to the information on the poster:
- You must be self sufficient, there is no service to take you on the river or provide you with supplies/ rides
- There is VERY limited parking at most launch sites, only park in the designated area or your vehicle is at risk of being towed at the owners expense.
- Pack out what you pack in! If you brought it with you bring it home, keep our river and parks clean.

Our Shuswap River Ambassadors remind you that when you head out on the water floating - you are required to have a lifejacket, whistle and buoyant throw line.
Make sure you plan your exit point and check the weather as it can change quickly.
And don’t forget to Pack out what you Pack in- helping to keep our rivers beautiful and clean.
