F.A.S.T. was thrilled to bring 3 of 6 cars representing the Atlantic region at Rallye Baie-des-Chaleurs !
🏎️Our junior crew chief got to experience the rally from behind the scenes and is already itching to get in the driver’s seat..
🏆🥇🥉Cal & Meg had a stalled start, with no communications and an axel slip in ss2 but fought back to claim the top spot in the Atlantic Region Championship, third in Rallye Sport Québec 4WP, 8th in RSQ overall, 8th in the Eastern Canadian Rally Championship and 13/45 overall for the event day.
🥉💪Derek & Chris stepped up to the challenging stages in their second rally together (Derek’s third ever rally) finding their way to a respectable third in the ARC, 14th in ECRC and 18/45 overall.
🏅💪Blu & Heidi made a triumphant comeback and completed the rally despite second gear MIA, finding 5th in ARC, 17th in ECRC and 21/45 overall.
We always love the community involvement and energy at this event and already can’t wait for the next one!

Le pilote Cal Vandaalen et sa copilote Meg Grandmaison seront de retour sur les routes gaspésiennes à bord de leur Subaru Impreza RS 2001 de catégorie Production 4 roues motrices! 💥🚗

En provenance de la Nouvelle-Écosse, le duo poursuit sa mission de représenter le rallye néo-écossais au sein du championnat de l'Est canadien. Déterminés comme toujours, ils sont prêts à relever une fois de plus le défi des spéciales gaspésiennes! 👊🏁

Cette édition marquera déjà une cinquième présence en Gaspésie pour l'équipage, qui arrive cette année accompagné d'amis et de coéquipiers afin d'ajouter une touche de compétition des Maritimes à l'événement! 🌊🔥

🏁🚗💨 The presentation of the teams entered in the 48th edition of Rallye Baie-des-Chaleurs 2026 continues with another member of the F.A.S.T. Racing family (Father And Son Together)! 🔥👨‍👦

Driver Cal Vandaalen and co-driver Meg Grandmaison will be returning to the legendary Gaspesian roads aboard their 2001 Subaru Impreza RS in the Production 4WD category! 💥🚗

Coming from Nova Scotia, the duo continues its mission of representing Nova Scotia rallying in the Eastern Canadian Rally Championship. As determined as ever, they are ready to take on the challenge of the Gaspesian stages once again! 👊🏁

This will already be their fifth appearance in Gaspésie, and this year they’re bringing along friends and teammates to add a little Maritime rivalry to the event! 🌊🔥

En provenance de la Nouvelle-Écosse, le pilote Blu Vandaalen et sa copilote Heidi Fennell seront de retour sur les routes gaspésiennes à bord de leur fidèle Subaru Impreza 1998! 💥

Les amateurs du BDC se rappellent peut-être que l’équipe avait vu son rallye se terminer prématurément l’an dernier en raison d’ennuis mécaniques. Cette année, l’objectif sera clair : prendre leur revanche et enfin rejoindre la ligne d’arrivée! 💪🏁

Blu possède une impressionnante expérience avec plusieurs victoires en course sur circuit, rallycross et rallye de performance. Depuis quelques années, Heidi partage l’aventure avec lui et le duo continue d’accumuler les kilomètres à travers le championnat! 👀🔥

🏁🚗💨 Team presentations continue for the 48th edition of Rallye Baie-des-Chaleurs 2026 with the first of the two F.A.S.T. Racing teams (Father And Son Together)! 👨‍👦🔥

Coming from Nova Scotia, driver Blu Vandaalen and co-driver Heidi Fennell return to the legendary Gaspesian roads aboard their faithful 1998 Subaru Impreza! 💥

BDC fans may remember the team’s rally ended early last year due to mechanical issues. This year, the goal is clear: bounce back and finally reach the finish line! 💪🏁

Blu brings decades of experience and several victories in circuit racing, rallycross, and performance rally. Over the past few years, Heidi has joined him on the adventure, and together they continue building miles and memories throughout the championship! 👀🔥

For some reason the dash cam cut the last 10 seconds for the finish but it was uneventful.

It was a busy weekend and we’re just pulling together everyone’s footage so here’s the highlights.

Stages were short for Black Rocks Rally but nice and smooth. Great conditions to start the year and shake down for baie.

Blu and Heidi had a brake line failure on ss2 and made it back to service for repair but lost valuable time limping along.

Cal and Meg kept it smooth with limited risk and it payed off in the end; tieing for first on stage time. Unfortunately Derek and Chris had a math error and it gave them a 8m late penalty.

Both Cal and Derek had 2 stage wins but Cal had 3 2nd place stages to Derek’s 2 if it had come to the tie breaker.

Solid performance by all and huge thanks to the volunteers and new rally enthusiasts that came out to support the event.
Good to see new people interested in coming out.
