Sharpener is set up and ready to go at my new location.
40 Courtney Street Fergus. There is a large green bin on the front porch to drop skates. Please leave a text with your name and skate description so I can message back when they are done.
$5/pair. I also have cards. 10 sharpenings for $40.

I use a Blade master, not the useless Sparx machine. I guarantee my work that your blades will not only be sharp, but also make sure the blade is level from a previous sharpening.

I am excited to share that I will be moving to Fergus. Skate sharpening and skate repairs along with available items like stick tape, clear tape, laces and wax along with many other items are available. I can also order in items usually arriving in less than 48 hours.

The 25+ years of sharpening experience is always a nice touch... Oh ya I forgot to mention. I'm not using one of those Sparx machines either. Weather your a "make em sharp" type or know exactly what cut you want and know the difference. I taylor ever skate to your preference.

Per pair: $5
10 sharpening cards: $40
All tape: $3 per roll
Wax: $5
Laces: $4 any length - waxed or unwaxed.
New steel: $100 includes sharpening (must be prepaid)

You may text and see if I am available for same time sharpening but there will be a bin set up at the front door for you to drop your skates off. Please still text to let me know you dropped your skates off and any info on them. (Cut preference, brand of skates).
Payment is preferred by email [email protected] but cash can be dropped off.
I do require payment before returning the skates to the bin. You can leave cash in the skates or e-transfer on drop off. I will make change as needed but it you drop $50 bill off for a $5 sharpening I will likely tell you to buy a 10 pack or find some change.

I guarantee my work. If your skates are not sharpened the way you like bring them back and I will sharpen them for free.
I've had one pair in 5 years of offering skate sharpening be returned. The reason being is cut they thought they were getting all along from the person they didn't know what they were going. Was not actually the cut they were getting.

Please note from July 3 through July 15 no sharpenings will be available.

Pond season is upon us.... How sharp are your skates for the next time you step on the arena ice?

The colder it gets the harder the ice is outside. Arena ice is regulated so the ice is the same hardness. Any time the outdoors gets below -10 the ice hardens. This will dull your skates much quicker. So although you feel like you have a sharp edge as you step off the pond. The moment you step on the ice in an arena your edges will not be as sharp. Because of the constant up and down in temperatures. Pond ice generally in not as good as arena ice. It will break and cut through more compared to arena ice. So even dull skates can feel sharp.
Make sure if you or your kids spend time on the pond, before their next skate on arena ice you get your skates touched up...

Don't have the time to get sharpenings? An extra set of blades can help... Most skates made in the last 10 years have quick change blades. Now you can have a set for the pond and a set for the arena.
