📸 A few of our Ridetheory coaches after a day of summer camps in Fernie.
This is what a lot of summer has looked like for them: early mornings, bikes lined up at the trailhead, riding, teaching, answering approximately 400 questions a day, fixing things, encouraging riders, and somehow still having enough energy to ride themselves after work.
Every coach brings their own style, experience and personality to the programs, but they all care about the same thing, helping people become better, more confident riders and have a good time doing it.
They’re the people behind the lessons, the high fives, the small breakthroughs and the big ones too.
We’re really lucky to have this crew.
Left to right: coach Aaron, coach Alexa, coach Quinn. future coach Mat Corkum, coach Alina, coach Creag. Missing: coach Clayton, coach Nathan and our behind the scenes team.

This summer, Coach Aaron and Coach Alexa spent some days celebrating big moments on some very small bikes. A first glide without training wheels. A rider who finally found the confidence to pedal on their own. A child who started the week holding a parent's hand and finished it racing toward another lap.
Our Learn to Pedal program is about building confidence, independence, and a love for being outside on two wheels.
There were plenty of wobbles, countless high-fives, and more smiles than we could count.
One of the best parts of coaching young riders is watching the moment everything clicks. You can almost see it happen. Their shoulders relax, they stop looking at their pedals, and suddenly they're riding. Then they look back with a huge grin that says, "Did you see that?"
We definitely saw it.
A huge thank you to Coach Aaron and Coach Alexa for creating a fun, encouraging, and supportive environment for every rider this season.
Here's to the milestones, the laughter, and all the little riders who discovered just how much fun riding in the Kootenay's is.
