We had a great time at the Okotoks Polocrosse Harvest Classic and our members won the top two spots in individual champion format!

Gladys has touched the lives of many in Canadian polocrosse. We thought we would share the tribute to her here on the event of her passing.

From the Eisler family:
The first time I met Gladys she was a borrowed horse I rode on the polocrosse field. She knew the game. She knew where to be. And she gave me my first introduction to the most fun I’ve had on horseback! I was hooked. Fast forward a year and I heard that Gladys’ owner was looking to rehome her. Our family was all horsed up. I didn’t need another horse nor did I have the space for her, but I enthusiastically jumped at the opportunity! Somehow, with knowing little about her, I knew I couldn’t miss the opportunity. I tried to learn a little more about her life prior to coming to us. She was born in Argentina. An Argentine Polo Pony. She had a career in polo in Argentina, and then Canada, and eventually made her way into the Canadian polocrosse world. She participated in many competitive trail rides, and has carried many a polocrosse rider!
She took me on a great adventure that year, and the next year she transitioned to being Avianna’s main mount. Gladys quickly became Avianna’s Heart Horse! Never did she have a naughty moment with my girl! Gladys gently carried Avianna, at Avianna’s pace, into a whole new world of riding. A true and caring partnership blossomed between them. Avianna and Gladys participated in 4-H, polocrosse, trail riding, horse camping, swimming, and many other spontaneous adventures. Gladys safely brought Avianna immense joy over the years, and nothing brings a mother more joy than seeing her children safe and happy! We hit the jackpot when Gladys became a part of our family! And I’d like to think that the feeling was mutual. We had the pleasure of enjoying Gladys in her golden years, and offering her four years of retirement after her long and faithful life of servitude to humankind.
Yesterday, I had the honour of escorting our Sweet Girl Gladys from this life to the next. She’s running strong and free once again! 💕 Rest in Peace Gladys. You have been loved by many!

Another tournament under our belts. Congratulations to the winners of our Stampede Classic. Thanks to everyone for the great sportsmanship and of course, thanks to the wonderful horses for giving us the opportunity to play. Hip Hip Hooray!

GOOD NEWS! The Alberta College of Massage Therapy is sending 4 students to the Stampede Classic Polocrosse Tournament. The students are available from 10am-2pm on Saturday for free massage therapy sessions. Make sure you sign up to get a spot! These are second year students looking to gain experience and we are grateful that they are available to support the Stampede Classic.
