Every Child Matters Woodland Painting Day!!!

The Youth in Transition - Housing Support Program is inviting Youth Aged 15-24 to come out and join invited Anishinaabekwe Artist, Storm Angeconeb for an Every Child Matters - Woodland Painting Day. This painting day will be held on the upcoming PD Day - Monday, September 28th from 11:30am-2:30pm. Storm is a renowned Anishinaabekwe artist from Lac Seul First Nation, who's work can be seen in stores, on murals, and maybe even within your own homes.

The theme for this "Every Child Matters" Woodland Painting Day will be in honor of our Residential School Survivors and those that did not make it home. While it is important to honor those children, the families and our communities, I feel it is equally important to also celebrate our resiliency as Anishinaabeg people, who have always held a connection to these lands through many different ways of living and being, one of which is our creativity and artistry. Storm has graciously prepared for this painting day to be rooted in just that, and we are both excited to have the youth come out and channel their inner artists through this mindful and meaningful painting exercise.

Lunch will be provided. If you are a youth or know of a youth that would like to be in attendance, please reach out to Whitney to register:
