We would like to thank absolutely everyone for the incredible out pouring of support these 97 incredible pups have received over the last 24 hours.

Information about the 97 dogs will be posted as it becomes available. Please do not call inquiring about the pups. We truly appreciate the interest from potential adopters but our main focus at this time must be caring for these pups and the other pets currently in our care. As much as we wish we did, we do not have the man power to return every call inquiring about our new intakes. We are terribly sorry that we can't answer each and every one of you because we appreciate your interest.

Please do no come to the shelter looking to meeting the 97 new pups. Please remember these pups are new to our shelter, they have had a very large change happen over night and will need time to adjust. We also need time to complete behavoural and medical assesments as well as grooming. Until that time they will be unavailable for public veiwing.

Please be patient with us. Our population doubled over night but our staff did not. We may be a little slower than usual responding. We will release information as they become available.

Get ready to hit the court! 🔥

BGC Fort McMurray is kicking off our BGC Tournament Series with our very first Basketball Tournament on Saturday, September 26!

This tournament is all about teamwork, sportsmanship, friendly competition, and having fun on the court! 💙

📅 September 26, 2026 (Saturday)
⏰ 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
📍 BGC Fort McMurray – 20 Riedel Street
🏀 Ages 5–12
👧🧒 CO-ED / MIXED TEAMS

🏀 THIS IS A MIXED TOURNAMENT!

Boys and girls will play together on mixed teams. This is not a boys-only or girls-only tournament — we want everyone to have the opportunity to play, compete, make friends, and be part of the BGC Olympics! 💙

Teams will be organized based on the number of registered participants, age groups, and overall tournament planning

✔️ Tournament jersey/uniform for every participant

Depending on the number of registered players, we will determine whether the tournament will be 3-on-3 or 5-on-5.

We will do our best to accommodate requested groups while ensuring teams are organized based on the final number of participants.
