The FHS Black Kats wrapped up an unforgettable season at our year-end banquet, celebrating not just our success on the ice, but the dedication, teamwork, and heart that defined this incredible group of athletes.

While we were proud to recognize individual achievements, this season’s success was truly a team effort. Every player on the roster played a vital role in getting us to this point; pushing each other, supporting one another, and showing what it means to be a Black Kat both on and off the ice.

We also took time to recognize the individual contributions that helped make this team so special:

🏆 Most Improved: Addyson Dickson
🏆 Rookie of the Year: Lexie Thompson
🏆 Most Offensive: Hannah McNeil
🏆 Most Defensive: Sadie Chafe
🏆 Unsung Hero: Abby Hayward
🏆 Coaches Choice Award: Claire Dyment & Ava Burns
🏆 Most Dedication/Sportsmanlike: Emily Leach
🏆 MVP: Leah Slipp
🏆 Lady Black Kat Spirit Award: Sarah Tyler

To our players, coaches, families, and supporters- thank you for being part of such a remarkable journey. The memories, friendships, and accomplishments from this season will last a lifetime.

We would also like to recognize and congratulate our graduating players: Leah Slipp, Sarah Tyler, and Emily Leach. Thank you for your leadership, commitment, and the lasting impact you’ve had on this program. We are so proud of you and wish you all the best in your next chapter and a bright future ahead.

We are the Black Kats!

The 2025-26 season has come to an end for the Black Kats after a loss to Mathieu Martin, but it was a year to remember.

An undefeated regular season (16-0-0), a 34-12-3 overall record, and a 3rd-place finish in the province is something to be proud of. This group showed up all year, competed in every game, and proved what they’re capable of.

From big wins, to tight battles, to growing stronger along the way, this team set a standard and represented the program the right way every time they stepped on the ice.

While the future is bright, we say goodbye to three Grade 12 players who meant a lot to this team. Leach, Slippy, and ST- your leadership, commitment, and presence will be missed. These grads finish their high school careers as two-time Western Conference Champions and were part of a group that made it to Provincials in back-to-back years after a 10-year absence.

With a strong group returning, there is a lot to build on from this season.

Best of luck to Mathieu Martin and Clement Cormier in tomorrow’s final.

Go Black Kats!
