Congratulations to our FHS Varsity Girls Black Kats Graduates! 🎓

What an incredible week celebrating our graduating athletes through the Black and Yellow Awards Ceremony and Prom festivities. We are so proud of the accomplishments, leadership, and dedication shown by our graduating Black Kats both on and off the ice.

⭐ Leah Slipp was awarded the Brendon Oreto Bursary valued at $1,000. This award recognizes a well-rounded student-athlete who stands out for their positive attitude, enthusiasm, and ability to uplift those around them. Leah's positivity, team-first attitude, and unwavering support of her teammates make her a truly deserving recipient.

⭐ Sarah Tyler received the Nick Lawrence Memorial Scholarship valued at $1,500. This scholarship supports an FHS student entering their first year of post-secondary education and recognizes athletic leadership and community involvement. It is awarded to a student who has had a positive impact on the community, and Sarah's leadership, dedication, and commitment to helping others embody the spirit of this award.

Both Sarah Tyler and Leah Slipp were also recipients of the Small Athletic F Award, recognizing their outstanding achievements and contributions to athletics throughout their time at FHS.

🌟 Emily Leach earned the Large Athletic F Award and was also named FHS ATHLETE OF THE YEAR! Emily's determination, work ethic, and excellence in athletics have set the standard and earned her one of the highest honors a student-athlete can receive.

To our graduates Leah, Sarah and Emily- thank you for your leadership, dedication, and passion for the game. The impact you've made on our program and your teammates will be felt for years to come.
As you hang up your FHS jerseys and begin your next chapter, know that you'll always be part of the Black Kats family.

The FHS Black Kats wrapped up an unforgettable season at our year-end banquet, celebrating not just our success on the ice, but the dedication, teamwork, and heart that defined this incredible group of athletes.

While we were proud to recognize individual achievements, this season’s success was truly a team effort. Every player on the roster played a vital role in getting us to this point; pushing each other, supporting one another, and showing what it means to be a Black Kat both on and off the ice.

The 2025-26 season has come to an end for the Black Kats after a loss to Mathieu Martin, but it was a year to remember.

An undefeated regular season (16-0-0), a 34-12-3 overall record, and a 3rd-place finish in the province is something to be proud of. This group showed up all year, competed in every game, and proved what they’re capable of.

From big wins, to tight battles, to growing stronger along the way, this team set a standard and represented the program the right way every time they stepped on the ice.

While the future is bright, we say goodbye to three Grade 12 players who meant a lot to this team. Leach, Slippy, and ST- your leadership, commitment, and presence will be missed. These grads finish their high school careers as two-time Western Conference Champions and were part of a group that made it to Provincials in back-to-back years after a 10-year absence.

With a strong group returning, there is a lot to build on from this season.

Best of luck to Mathieu Martin and Clement Cormier in tomorrow’s final.

Game 3 this afternoon in Bouctouche.

The #1 seed from the West takes on the #1 seed from the East with a spot in Sunday’s Provincial Final on the line against Clement Cormier.

One more game to decide who moves on.

Kats fall 3–0 in Game 2 to Clement Cormier.

The game was tight throughout, with Clement Cormier sealing it late with an empty netter.

They close out Day 1 at 1–1 and get right back to it tomorrow in a must-win battle against Mathieu Martin.

The Kats are back at it tonight at 6:15 PM against Clément-Cormier, with opening ceremonies at 6:00 PM.

With the opening win this morning, FHS needs one win in regulation in their next two games to punch their ticket to Sunday.
