Twenty years ago today, Go Go Group opened its doors.
It is hard to believe that a dream that began 20 years ago has grown into an organization serving thousands of children and families across New Brunswick. Looking back, my heart is filled with gratitude.
This journey has been filled with far more successes than failures, but I think it is important to acknowledge that the failures were real too. Building a business is not just about celebrating milestones and accomplishments. It is about making difficult decisions, taking risks, facing setbacks, questioning yourself, working through challenges, and finding the strength to keep going. There have been long days, late nights, weekends spent working, sacrifices, sleepless nights, and moments when the path forward was anything but certain.
Yet every challenge taught me something. Every setback made us stronger. Every obstacle helped shape the company we are today.
The rewards have been beyond anything I could have imagined. The proud moments. The happy tears. The lives we have had the privilege to impact. The children who have grown through our programs. The families who have trusted us with what matters most. The incredible leaders who have grown within our organization. Those moments have made every challenge worthwhile.
Over the past 20 years, we have had the privilege of caring for more than 30,000 children. Today, Go Go proudly operates 36 licensed locations across New Brunswick, serving families in Sussex, Hampton, Rothesay, Saint John, New Maryland, Fredericton, and Oromocto. Every one of those communities has become part of our story.
None of this would have been possible without the incredible people who believed in Go Go.
To the thousands of families who entrusted us with their children, thank you.
To every child who has walked through our doors, thank you for bringing us joy and purpose each and every day.
To our extraordinary team, you are the heart of Go Go. Thank you for believing this is so much more than a place to work. You have embraced our mission, cared deeply for children and families, supported one another through the busy days and the difficult ones, and built something truly special. Go Go is what it is today because of your passion, your dedication, and your commitment to making a difference in the lives of children every single day.
To my family, there are simply no words that could ever fully express my gratitude. To my husband, my children, my parents, my sister's family, my in-laws, my sister in law and every single member of our extended family who has supported this dream, thank you. This milestone belongs to you as much as it belongs to me. Building a business truly takes a village, and I have been blessed with the very best one.
To the mentors, friends, organizations, and community members who believed in me, challenged me to think bigger, offered advice, listened during the hard days, and celebrated the good ones, thank you. Your encouragement helped shape not only Go Go, but also the leader I have become.
Finally, thank you to Fredericton and to the communities across New Brunswick that have supported Go Go for the past 20 years. I could not be more proud that this company was built here, and I will never take for granted the trust you have placed in us.
Twenty years later, I am more grateful than ever, more inspired than ever, and more excited than ever for what comes next.
