WE ARE HIRING: Head Coach & Operational Lead (Part-Time) 🤺
Damocles Fencing Club is seeking a dynamic leader to drive the next chapter of our growth. As the operational heartbeat of our club, you will manage our full-time fencing salle and lead fencer development from beginners to elite athletes.

The Details:
Type: Part-time (~25 hours/week), year-round.
Start Date: August 24th, 2026.
Key Responsibilities: Class coordination (foil and epee), Fencer development, community outreach, facility management, and athlete/staff mentorship.

Requirements: NCCP "Competition Development" level or higher, CFF Safe Sport compliance, and minimum 2 years of coaching experience at the "Learn to Train" stage or higher.

NOUS RECRUTONS : Entraîneur-chef et responsable opérationnel (temps partiel) 🤺
Le Damocles Fencing Club recherche un leader dynamique pour diriger le prochain chapitre de la croissance de notre club. En tant que cœur opérationnel du club, vous gérerez notre salle d'escrime à temps plein et dirigerez le parcours de développement des escrimeurs, des débutants aux athlètes de haut niveau.

Les détails :
Type : Temps partiel (environ 25 heures par semaine), toute l'année.
Date de début : 24 août 2026.
Responsabilités principales : Coordination des cours (fleuret et épée), sensibilisation de la communauté, gestion des installations et mentorat des athlètes et du personnel.
Exigences : Certification PNCE au niveau « Développement de la compétition » ou plus, conformité au programme Sport sécurisé de la FCE, et minimum de 2 ans d'expérience en entraînement au stade « Apprendre à s'entraîner » ou plus.

The Government of Canada’s announcement of $755 million over five years, including $660 million directed specifically to National Sport Organizations is a very positive step for the Canadian sport community.

We are very grateful to the Secretary of Sport, Adam van Koeverden, the government of Canada, Sport Canada, and the Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Committees for their continued advocacy.

La Fédération canadienne d’escrime se réjouit de l’annonce faite par le gouvernement fédéral concernant un investissement considérable dans le sport canadien.

L’annonce par le gouvernement du Canada d’un investissement de 755 millions de dollars sur cinq ans, dont 660 millions destinés spécifiquement aux organismes sportifs nationaux, représente un pas très positif pour la communauté sportive canadienne.

What a weekend! Damocles fencers competed all weekend for New Brunswick Provincials in Moncton. We are very proud of all of you for your great successes & performances.

- 🥇 from Zhirong Zhang in Senior Mixed Epee
- 🥇 in Team Mixed Epee from our very own Hoplites division (Sammy Singh-Ranger, Sébastien Fournet, Zhirong Zhang)
- 🥈 in Cadet Women’s Epee from Kateryna Kyrychuk
- 🥈 in Senior Mixed Epee from Sébastien Fournet
- 🥉 in Senior Mixed Epee from Sammy Singh-Ranger

All the athletes from Damocles trained very hard this year to compete and perform at the 2026 provincials. Not everyone earned a medal, but everyone gave their best effort and performance and we couldn’t ask for more.

Once again, big congratulations to the fencers for a great 2026 provincials.
