The Miramichi Mayhem are pleased to announce the appointment of Carl “Butch” Watters as Head Coach for the upcoming season.

Coach Watters brings an extensive background of elite playing and coaching experience to the organization, spanning over three decades at the local, regional, and international levels. We would like to share just some highlights of his impressive hockey career!

Championship Playing Career: A standout defenseman, Watters won the Canada Hardy Cup National Championship with the Miramichi Gagnon Packers.

Coaching Experience: Served as Head Coach for the Akureyri Ice Hockey Club in Iceland, and Assistant Coach for the Iceland National Senior Men’s Team at the IIHF World Championships. Assistant Coach for the Miramichi Jr. A Timberwolves.

Elite Female Hockey Development: Proven leadership in women’s competitive programs, including tenures as Head Coach for Team Atlantic U18 Ladies and the James M. Hill High School Ladies Hockey Club.

Technical Instruction: Since 1991, Watters has operated as the Director of the North East Hockey and Power Skating School, delivering player development programs both locally and internationally.

The Mayhem are proud to have a local Miramichier who shares the passion of growing female hockey behind our bench.

The Miramichi Mayhem Women’s Hockey Team is looking for players! Join us for a couple of friendly, ice times to kick off the season.

WHEN: September 18 & 19
TIME: 8:40 PM
WHERE: Miramichi Civic Centre
COST: $10 per skater

IMPORTANT: Must be 18+ (or turning 18 during the upcoming season).

Please bring a jersey with a visible number on it.
