The ice is coming out, the days are getting longer, and summer is finally getting near!

This is a great time for athletes to step away from the rink, recharge, and enjoy other sports and activities. Golf, soccer, baseball, tennis, rollerblading and countless other activities help build athleticism, coordination, balance and confidence while giving athletes a break from the demands of a long hockey season.

When July and August arrive, we'll be ready to get back to work with a full lineup of programs for athletes at every stage of their development.

We're also putting the finishing touches on both HNB prep sessions and a new series of Special Teams Clinics, with dedicated sessions focused on both the power play and penalty kill, giving athletes the opportunity to better understand and execute some of the most important situations in the game.

We’re excited to introduce the Senior Instructors for this summer’s Girls Hockey Summer Blast Camp!

Our athletes will have the opportunity to learn from a great group of players and mentors with experience ranging from U SPORTS hockey to the professional level.

• MJ English – Current STU player
• Shayne Burgoyne – Current Acadia University player and ACHA Rookie of the Year
• Audrey Daigle – Captain of the 2025/2026 U18 AAA Flames

The Girls Hockey Summer Blast Camp is designed for athletes from U9 to U13 and focuses on skill development, confidence, teamwork and creating a positive environment for female players to grow their game this summer.

This summer’s U11, U13, U16 and U15/U18 Advanced Performance Academies will once again feature a strong group of coaches and mentors helping lead our athletes on and off the ice!

Our on-ice sessions will be led by Matt Wright and Gabe Guertler, supported by a staff who knows exactly what these programs are about because they’ve lived it themselves through AAA, junior, academy, QMJHL and international hockey.

Staff includes:

• Matt Wright – Director of Programs, Scout for the Chaleur Lightning
• Gabe Guertler – Head of Player Development, former Team USA player
• Dax MacLean & Stacy Smallman - Owners of Champions Hockey and UNB National Champions
• Zack Michaud – Former CHA Eagle, current Gatineau Olympiques forward (QMJHL)
• Ben Cross – Former Captain of the U18 AAA Caps, Rimouski Oceanic & Saint John Sea Dogs (QMJHL) and Chaleur Lightning forward
• Audrey Daigle – Captain of the 2025/2026 U18 AAA Flames
• ZWD Goaltending

These academies are designed to push athletes in a high-performance environment while surrounding them with coaches and mentors who have already walked the path many players are working toward.

U13 is now full, with limited space remaining in U11, U15 Male, U15/U18 Female and our U16 Male group.

Congratulations to the 2017 NB Alliance, led by Coach Darryl Boyce, on bringing home gold at the Montreal Meltdown this weekend!

Congratulations to all the players who heard their names called at this weekend’s QMJHL Draft!

It was great to see familiar names on the draft board and watch years of hard work pay off. Best of luck to all the athletes as they take the next step in their hockey journeys.
