U16 AAA Caps Selection Camp starts this Sunday!

One final call for 2010 and 2011 born players interested in trying out for the U16 AAA Fredericton Caps for the 2026-27 season.

At the request of our coaching staff, we have secured an additional ice time for an intersquad scrimmage to give coaches more opportunity to evaluate players and goalies in game situations.

Jerseys with assigned numbers will be provided to each player for duration of the selection process. Players are asked to bring their own socks.

Tonight was all about the finer details.

With tryouts creeping up and a new hockey season around the corner, our Face-Off Clinic gave players a chance to focus on one of those small parts of the game that can make a big difference.

Technique, timing, body position, puck possession and having a plan before the puck even drops. It’s the kind of detail that can help you stand out during tryouts and carry over into the season ahead.

We’re happy to welcome Alex Ouellet as a Senior On-Ice Instructor with Champions Hockey, working with our programs in Miramichi and the Chaleur Region!

Originally from Moncton, Alex brings a strong background in both coaching and player development. Since 2018, he has been part of the Tom Duffey Hockey School in Halifax, where he has worked his way into the role of Lead On-Ice Instructor. He has also coached at Mount Academy, including serving as the school’s Spring Hockey Coordinator.

This season, Alex is also joining the Chaleur Lightning of the Maritime Hockey League as an Associate Coach.

Alex will be a familiar face on the ice as we continue to grow our programming across northern New Brunswick. We’re looking forward to having him work with our players and be part of the Champions team!

Back to school means it’s a good time to stock up on Champions gear!

We’ll have a Pop-Up Shop set up at the Grant Harvey tonight and tomorrow from 5:00–8:15 PM.

Stop by and check out T-shirts, shorts, joggers, hoodies, hats and more. We’ll have a variety of sizes and styles available.

We’re happy to support a new women’s recreational hockey league right here in Fredericton!

More opportunities to get on the ice means more people playing the game, whether they’re picking up hockey for the first time or getting back to a sport they’ve always enjoyed.

It’s great to see the game continuing to grow in our community, with opportunities for players of all ages!

We’re excited to share that the U16 AAA Fredericton Caps will be attending both the Monctonian AAA Challenge and the East Coast Ice Jam in Halifax this season.

These two events are among the largest AAA tournaments on the East Coast, bringing together U15, U16 and U18 teams for a high level of competition and valuable scouting opportunities.

We’re looking forward to giving our players the opportunity to compete at both events and represent the Fredericton Caps on two of the biggest stages in East Coast hockey!

DOMINATE THE DOT is back this September!

When tryouts roll around, sometimes it’s the little things that get a coach’s attention. Being trusted to take an important face-off, win possession in the defensive zone, or understand what to do off the draw can help separate players when coaches are making tough decisions.

Our DOMINATE THE DOT clinic gives players two focused sessions to work on a skill that doesn’t always get much dedicated practice time.
