Happy Labour Day Post Part Deux.

Yesterday, the U14 and U17 Boys and Girls teams travelled to Graves Oakley, Halifax by bus for their last games of the 2026 season. It sometimes rainy, sometimes overcast, sometimes windy all team comported themselves very well.

U14 Boys: 2-0. Player of the Day-Elliot Anderson.

U14 Girls:0-2. Player of the Day-Sadie Decourcey-Jones

U17 Boys: 28-17. Player of the Match-Darius Garner

U17 Girls: 12-32. Player of the Match- Lily Dyker

A great day of rugby to end off a great year. 86 players made the trip down and will have some fun stories to tell/ Future looks bright!

Huge thanks to Youth Coordinator, Derek Bailey for getting it all organized from start to finish. As well to, Tanya Carter for helping with the basket fundraiser, and to other parents who helped oraganize BBQs, 50/50s and gates at games to help keep costs down and assessable to all!

And to all families and fans and supporters who donated, bought tickets etc. Thank you!

Takes a community to raise a rugby player.

This past Saturday the Loyalist Mmen played UNB REDS: Mens Rugby 'B' in the annual Bill Thorpe Memorial Game at College Field. The Loyalist Men came out on top in a great spirited match to return the trophy back to da club.

The spirit of rugby was on full display as both teams played the way social rugby should be played with no swearing. As well, great to see so many current and hopefully future Loyalists on both sides of the ball.

Another great aspect of the game was seeing long time club supporter, flag coach and touch player extrodinaire, strap on the boots in his first contact match, since 1993, at 51 to play with his son, awesomeness Tim and Cef Ward

Both men's sides will.b hosting the Provincial Finals this Saturday, Sept 12th vs SJTrojans

We will be showing the South Africa vs New Zeland match at 11:50am. Third game with the series tied 1-1

Afterwards make your way to College Field for a double header featuring the Bill Thorpe Memorial Game. Both games at College Field.

1pm: UNB Men 'A' vs U of Maine
3pm: UNB Mean 'B' vs Loyalists Men

Then come in back to da club for a.little Saturday Mix and Mingle.

Looking for a rugby fix this Saturday? The annual Bill Thorpe Memorial Game between Loyalists Men and UNB Ironmen Rugby Football Club Reds' Men 'B" will be taking place at College Field. 3pm KO!

Prior to the game, the UNB Men 'A' will be taking on U of Maine in a pre-season match at College Field. 1pm.

Last evening the U17 Loyalist Girls team has their end of awards ceremony. A great year on and off the pitch for all of them. They will be travelling to Dartmouth on Sunday to play the Pig Dogs as well to close off their season.

Last evening the U14 Girls and Boys awards were given out. Lots of recognition for a great season by both sides. Some are moving up to high school/U17 while many are staying for another year or two at U14 but all represented the club very well over the summer.

Provincial Finals Bound For Men’s B and A

The Senior Men’s B defeated Moncton Black Tide on Saturday to advance to the provincial finals in two weeks time. The club will be hosting both the Men’s A and B finals on September 12th vs the Saint John Trojans.

UNB vs Loyalist Women Laura Stairs Memorial Game.

In a great spirited match of social rugby both sides played to the true spirit of the game. UNB was able to come out on top in this annual match. Laura’s family was on hand for the game and enjoyed a great game in Laura’s memory. Another great aspect of the game was young ref, Isabelle Jewett, who plays for ESA and the U17 Loyalist girls, being in the middle for her first game ever and comported herself very well.
