There's a version of Fredericton you only meet at 6:15, and yesterday morning it showed off.
Fog on the river. The Bill Thorpe floating in it. A big crew moving through a morning most of the city slept through, every pace finding its people somewhere in the cloud.
That's the quiet deal with these runs. The weather puts on a different show every week, and the company stays the same. You don't need to be fast and you don't need to know anyone. Show up once and the herd handles the rest.
Monday and Wednesday, 6:15 AM sharp Picaroons Roundhouse parking lot 6.5 km, all paces welcome Coffee after at The Grain and Grind
June heat is on its way, and this is the cool half of the day. The sun's already up before we are. Put your shoes by the door Sunday night and come see one of these mornings for yourself.
The Sundial Circuit hits Killarney Lake June 27 and spots are going. Link in bio if your summer needs a first trail race.

You can show up to this not knowing a single person, and somewhere in the first kilometre that stops being true.
That's the whole thing with Devon Deer.
Monday morning, the river still half asleep, a crew out doing 6.5 km before most of Fredericton had found its coffee.
Nobody up front, nobody left behind. You slot in next to whoever's going your pace and the morning takes care of itself.
If you've been telling yourself you're not fast enough, or not a real runner, or that you'd feel out of place: that's exactly who this is for.
Come once. We'll make room.
Next road run:
Wednesday, June 10
6:15 AM sharp, Picaroons Roundhouse parking lot
6.5 km, all paces welcome
Coffee after at The Grain and Grind
Come on your own. Bring a friend. Either way, we'll know your name by the coffee.

Course demo: complete. Shoes: never the same again. 🦌
A herd of us got a first look at the Sundial Circuit loop at Killarney Lake this morning - 5 km of singletrack, log hops, a little mud (fine, a lot of mud), and one very photogenic lady slipper that stopped the whole group.
Race day is Saturday, June 27, and here's the deal: run one loop, or keep looping all day. When the sun goes down, whoever has the most loops wins. That's it. No cutoffs, no pressure, all paces - one loop and a snack is a complete Sundial experience. First-timers, this is your race.
Thanks to everyone who came out in the drizzle and to for the photos. This week's runs are in the pinned comment 👇

Fredericton, this was the week.
Monday morning gave us river light, real deer, steady miles, and coffee after.
Wednesday showed up even louder: big crew, easy pace, hard laughs, and that specific kind of magic that only happens when people decide to meet before the day gets noisy.
(And no, the trails are not closed. We just can't resist a photo op. Odell is open and waiting for you Thursday.)
If you have been thinking about coming out, this is your sign.

Two kids on bikes spent part of last Wednesday riding alongside us while their mom ran, all of them talking the whole way. Nobody blinked. That's the group.
Tomorrow we go again. 6:15 from the Picaroons parking lot, out along the river before the rest of the city's awake. It's cool when you start and you stop noticing about a kilometre in. 6.5km at whatever pace feels good, and good is the only target. Up front runs quick. The back half walks and runs and talks, and there's always company back there, so the early start is never something you do alone.
Most mornings people stand around at Picaroons afterward longer than they spent running. Coffee's there for anyone who's got the time.
It's the first Monday of June. If you've been telling yourself you'll start when things settle down, this is a clean place to begin. Send this to the friend you keep saying you'll start with. Shoes by the door tonight. See you at 6:15.
Hoofs forward. 🦌

The first kilometer is the loudest one. Footfalls finding pavement, breath catching up to legs, someone behind you saying they almost slept in. By the second kilometer the river opens on your left and the city is still soft around the edges. Nobody has emailed you yet. Nobody is waiting on you. The only thing you're doing is moving.
Some of us came back to running after a baby. Some of us came back after fifty. Some of us showed up because we moved to Fredericton last month and didn't know where else to start. Some of us have been running for years and still get nervous walking up to a group of strangers in the dark.
We run at every pace from quick to conversational, with walk breaks at the back if you want them. The person at the very back doesn't run faster than the slowest person beside them. That's the whole deal.
Tomorrow morning. 6:15 AM at the Picaroons Roundhouse. 6.5km out and back along the river. Cool and grey, maybe a little drizzle. Long sleeves, a light shell if you've got one.
If you've been thinking about it, do the small thing tonight. Shoes by the door. Alarm set. We'll save you a spot near the front of the parking lot.
All paces, all ages. Nobody runs alone.

What a big crowd and a beautiful day 🦌💨
Victoria Day with the herd: kids on bikes, dogs on leashes, marathon shirts from 2022, retro socks, a stroller convoy, and one very good iron bridge.
Massive thanks to at - y'all absolutely showed up for what we sent through your doors this morning. Coffee that tasted like victory ☕💛
Next run: Wednesday 6:15am. It's live - tell yer friends, kids, neighbours, frenemies.
