As tough as it has been on everyone it's the time of year to remember all those who we can't hug but still keep in our hearts and be as close as we can to those who are still here.

On the day we take to remember, let us not forget that all those men and women heard the call to service and made a great sacrifice.

Today is not to glorify war or even the departed but to mark the occasion and as much as most soldiers do hope for a day when wars are avoided and win the only race worth winning, the human race.

We live in a future paid for by their loss.
