6 fitness myths worth leaving behind. 💭
1. You have to sweat to have a good workout. 💦
Sweat helps regulate your body temperature. It isn’t a measure of how effective your workout was. You can have a productive strength session without leaving the gym drenched.
2. More isn’t always better. ⚖️
Training hard every day without enough recovery can work against you. Your body needs time to adapt to the demands you place on it. Rest is part of the process, not time wasted.
3. You don’t need to be motivated to make progress. 🔁
Motivation naturally comes and goes. A realistic routine, manageable goals, and consistency over time will take you further than waiting until you feel ready.
4. Cardio and strength training aren’t competing goals. 🏋🏽♀️
Both have important benefits for your health. Strength supports muscle, bone health, and everyday function, while cardiovascular exercise supports your heart and endurance. You don’t have to choose just one.
5. Soreness isn’t proof of a good workout. 💪🏽
Muscle soreness can happen after challenging or unfamiliar exercise, but it isn’t required for progress. Getting stronger is about adaptation over time, not how much you ache the next day.
6. You don’t have to change your body to benefit from exercise. 🤝
Better energy, improved mood, greater strength, better sleep, and feeling more capable in everyday life are all worthwhile outcomes. Your progress doesn’t have to be visible to be meaningful.
At CircaFit, we believe fitness should support your life, not take it over.
Train for what your body can do, build habits that work for you, and remember that the goal is to keep moving in ways that support your health for years to come.
Strong for life 🙌🏼💪🏾
