Halton Hills Cricket Club (HHCC) proudly wrapped up its inaugural five-week Cricket Learning Sessions for local youth – a groundbreaking milestone for the Town of Halton Hills. Made possible by the generous support of Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities, this program marked the town’s very first youth cricket initiative. The Jumpstart Community Development Grant empowered our club to ignite a passion for cricket among local children, making a powerful impact on our community.
Throughout these five dynamic sessions, HHCC introduced the sport to 32 children aged 4 – 18, many of whom picked up a cricket bat for the first time. Notably, 8 enthusiastic girls joined, demonstrating remarkable potential and helping to foster a spirit of inclusivity. These sessions did more than just teach cricket – they inspired teamwork, discipline, and a lasting sense of community.
This initiative has powerfully advanced our Club’s mission to make cricket accessible to everyone, fueling lasting excitement for youth sports across Halton Hills. We are sincerely grateful to Jumpstart for helping us create a meaningful and lasting impact in the lives of local children.
