The Grande Prairie Storm would like to congratulate Reily Pickford on signing with the Medicine Hat Tigers of the Western Hockey League.
Reily joined the Storm at last season’s trade deadline after being acquired from the Camrose Kodiaks and quickly became an important part of our team. His work ethic, character, and commitment to improving every day made an immediate impact both on and off the ice. We are proud to have been a part of his hockey journey and look forward to following his continued success.
Storm General Manager Mark Bomersback shared his thoughts on Reily’s accomplishment:
“We’re very happy and excited for Reily. He was a great addition to our group when we acquired him from the Camrose Kodiaks at the deadline. He was everything we expected and more, both on and off the ice.
I believe Reily is only scratching the surface of his potential and will continue to climb the hockey ranks as he develops. While we were looking forward to having him back with the Storm this season, we’re thrilled he’s earned the opportunity to move up to the WHL with the Medicine Hat Tigers. We wish him nothing but the best as he takes this next step in his career.”

The Grande Prairie Storm are pleased to announce the acquisition of Grande Prairie product Bowen Grycan from the Camrose Kodiaks in exchange for Defenceman Connor Frost and Forward Aiden Sexsmith. “We’re excited to welcome Bowen back home to wear the Storm Jersey in his final year of Junior Hockey ,” said GM Mark Bomersback.
“Connor and Aiden have been outstanding members of our organization,” Bomersback added. “It’s always tough moving good players/ making a trade. This is a big trade with very good players and people involved. We appreciate everything they have done for the Storm last season and wish them nothing but success with the Camrose Kodiaks and their future hockey careers moving forward.”
Storm fans can see Grycan suit up in the blue and yellow on August 30 at 6pm at Bonnetts Energy Centre, for the annual Brian Nash Intersquad Game.
