Cycling around the World has increased since the arrival of COVID. Sudbury is designed as an automobile centric city.

As a photographer my purpose is to document the phenomenon of bicycles, riders and their increased motivations for riding in the City

@petriescycleandsports Stories...he surprised me sitting in a chair beside the door. I looked and he introduced himself from an old barbers chair. There was another one beside him, empty. I sat in it. I apologized for being a couple minutes late. He asked me what I wanted to know. He was open to conversation. We talked, laughed, he was candid about cycling. He spoke about how it changed during COVID; Cycling boomed during the Pandemic and no could keep with demand. The main Issue was people wanted bikes to get outside, pandemic lockdowns created a huge need to get outside. The bicycle defied this it got you recreation, exercise, fresh air. It allows you to explore. I was told that Families, and kids were a large part of the surge. They told that after 2 years of kids riding, means people need new bikes remember, these kids are growing up. I ask whether this new wave of riders be sustained. Gas is expensive. Clean mobility is the philosophy, with a bicycle. Cycling can be cheap. You need some knowledge and curiosity to learn. He adds that commuters and students, along with customers who's friends want to ride with friends, are a new part of this growth.
