Algonquin Playground

Rink has fully recovered from the thaw event. Lights are on till 10pm

People love shooting pucks at posts, I mean, you gotta have something to aim at. But, for playing games, it can be pretty dangerous, pucks flying and deflecting unpredictably potentially into someone face or knee, or even hitting cars and houses around the rink. It happens often. I built 2, about 7 or 8 years ago, but they were eventually destroyed. They were used regularly and were a lot of fun.
If anyone has the time to build some of these for the playground, we would reimburse you for materials. Message us and let us know if you can help. As time comes available ill try and build some, the goal is to have 4.

Getting close should be able to go for skate tomorrow.. We'll do a zamboni scrape and flood and put out the nets tomorrow evening.

The building will be open and supervised by the city attendants Monday,Wednesday,Fridays from 5pm to 9pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 12pm to 6pm. Outside of those hrs. The building will be closed. The Algonquin Hawks SPHL teams will be hosting practices Tuesday and Thursdays from 6 to 8pm, and the rink will be closed to the public during that time. Lets all wish for a great skating season this year!

Its cold out there today, but we still have some brave kids in our neighborhood! Zamboni will be out there this afternoon to make the ice mint! Enjoy!

My son mixed up backpacks with someone who has the same backpack as his when he was at the odr earlier today (from 3-5 ish). Unfortunately his had an iPad in it as he had come directly from school, so needless to say we are quite concerned about getting it back.

It is a navy blue and black Puma backpack. His school agenda is also in it so his name should be written on it.

The one we have only had a lunch bag and gloves in it and a Bauer water bottle

Rink is open. City has not posted shack hrs. Benches available outside. Ice still rough in spots.

Algonquin hawks atom team has an outdoor practice tonight from 7 till 8pm. The rink will be closed to the public from 630 till 8pm to allow for ice maintenance.

Just a heads up we'll be hosting a birthday party tomorrow afternoon at the playground. The ice will be closed from 1 to 2pm and the shack will be available after 3pm. Thanks
