⚽️ U14 Boys Weekend Recap 🔴⚫️

The GSSC U14 Boys were back in action this past weekend with two very different matches — and an incredible response to finish things off!

Saturday saw the boys face a familiar rival, Bryst. A slow start left GSSC trailing 4-1 at halftime. The boys battled back with a much stronger second half, but the comeback fell short, with Bryst taking the 4-2 win.

After some discussion and reflection, the boys came ready to respond on Sunday against Vaughan, the top team in the division.

A shaky start had GSSC down 2-0, but then everything clicked. 💪 The comeback was on! The boys fought their way back to make it 2-2 at halftime and came out flying in the second half.

Emmanuel buried the go-ahead goal, while Max came up with some huge saves when the team needed them most. The boys held strong to complete an incredible 3-2 comeback victory over Vaughan! 🔥👏

What an incredible wrap-up to the season for our U11 YSRL boys! ⚽🔥

​We kicked off our final week on Wednesday with a team-bonding afternoon at Rainbow Mall—tons of laughs, games, arcade,VR and great quality time together.

​Then yesterday, the boys faced their toughest rivals yet: the Parents & Siblings! It was a match for the ages. The parents came out swinging, but the kids staged an epic comeback to take the day!

​More than anything, it was amazing to see our entire team family come together. That’s what this program is all about—building a strong, healthyu community for our kids to thrive in.

​Thank you to all the parents and supporters for making this season so special. We can’t wait to watch these boys continue to learn, grow, and play together! ⚽❤️

GSSC is a proud participant in Charitable Gaming! Through volunteering at Sudbury Delta Bingo & Gaming, we can continue our important work in the community.

Last evening the U12G wrapped up their outdoor season with the Annual “Parents/Siblings vs Kids” game. The girls were looking for redemption after a defeat last year.
The air was filled pre match with the smell of tiger balm and Rub A535 as the parents locked in to try to continue their dominance.
The game was a tightly contested, back and forth battle enjoyed by all. Chances were squandered and groins were stretched. Two halves could not settle the score as it was tied heading into penalties.

The parents may be “old” but we in fact still have it!

They were able to convert all their PKs and come away with the victory. Wisdom won out.
Bobby was also able to deny his daughter Layla at the end which will give him bragging rights around the dinner table!

Both teams battled hard, enjoyed the friendly competition and shared lots of smiles and laughs.
No injuries were sustained, only some bruised egos from the U12G players as they suffered another defeat (albeit in PKs) to their parents and siblings.

⚽️❤️ What a weekend to wrap up our U11 YRSL season!

The boys finished league play in incredible fashion, showing heart, resilience and determination from start to finish.

Saturday:
The team earned a big 6-2 win over Jarvis, with Alex Rubinsztejn and Nana each scoring twice, along with a goal from Nestor. After the game, Jarvis generously treated our players to pizza and drinks—a great reminder that soccer is about more than results. It’s also about friendships, sportsmanship and memories made along the way. 🍕🥤

Sunday – Thornhill Challenge Cup Festival:
The pouring rain didn’t slow this group down! 🌧️🔥

⚽ Game 1: A strong 6-2 victory over a talented Thornhill side.

⚽ Game 2: In a full-on mudfest, the boys found themselves trailing 2-0 early but never gave up. Kael came up with some massive saves in goal—while covered head-to-toe in mud! Odin helped battle the team back to 3-3, before Andres sealed an unforgettable 4-3 comeback win!

In all three games this weekend, the team fell behind before fighting their way back. That resilience, grit and belief made every coach and parent incredibly proud.
