Just had this sent to me by Joey Raymond, he and a friend were fishing a lake here in Sudbury last night... Now I know Joey does not keep a lot of fish, but that big pike was really deep-hooked with a big Bunny-Hair leech pattern jig and it as better to keep it... The other two are nice eater sized pike that fell for the same pattern tied on a dropshot, and will make nice fillets for an upcoming fish-fry!!... Hope I am invited!!!!

Just a little update, I have been working out the bugs to make this little pattern work, and I think I have it... a bucktail craw... This particular one is tied on a 1/16 black roundhead, in green bucktail, and yellow saddle hackle... with two strands of red flash for feelers... I am going to try the feelers in a floating rubber material for the next iteration of this pattern... and see how it looks on upsized, different head styles, and colours... But I really feel this ill be a winner bass and pike pattern!!!

Another pic sent in by Ron Lalonde... From the little pond on Goodwill Drive... Ron had this dropshot hook that I tied with a little bit of flash, to enhance any bait or plastic that might be put on the hook... Second cast out, the bare hook, with just he flash landed him this little bass... and thee more followed in the next half hour...I guess I will make more of those!!!

On a little side note, I had tie up this gargantuan ledge jig for Elton to try on largemouth... Well Elton called me today laughing/crying, asking me to make and send him more of them... Apparently, he found a perfect ledge spot to test the jig, and on the first cast, got a HUGE lure- bump, and set the hook on a "monster" as he put it, only to have his leader ( 25lb flouro)cut off...A very large musky was the taker... But he thinks it is a true indication of the potential of this jig!!!

So a fw photos have been coming in... Elton is down south right now experimenting with my ties... Unfortunately, it is a super weedy lake, and none of the ties I sent him are weedless... He is having great success right now with largemouth with this 3/4 oz weedless Poison head and Yucky bug...so to the vice we go to build something with the same profile and action... Though the natural fibres and hairs that we us could possibly give it more appeal than the rubber might... We'll see!!

Was running about this afternoon, But I did have time to tie these two red-and-yellow marabou pike jigs for a customer... He will be using these to fish in water 8 feet or less... Now, red is the first colour to "washout" underwater... In perfect conditions, the color is gone by the ten foot mark, shallower if the lake is stained... When a color washes out, it appears grey, as no colour whatsoever... But these jigs have the yellow, and the chartreuse, and the flash going for them, so I think they will work well for the conditions he is fishing... And the rods and cones in pike eyes make them more sensitive to the charteusy colours, walleye to the orangy end of the spectrum...And yellow, by the way, washes out justafter green does, around 35 ft... Blues diappear around 60ish feet, and Colours in the UV spectrm arevisible to fish up to a depth of 700 feet...
