🔥 From Canada to the Heart of Muay Thai 🔥
Today marked our final training session in Thailand.
A huge thank you to Denis Puric for recommending that we stay and train at Muay Thai Academy MTA It has been an incredible experience for our team.
A special thank you to Kru เพชรเมืองไทย ก. เอกลักษณ์ยิม , Kru Jack, all of the Krus, staff, and the Nak Muays we've had the opportunity to meet and train alongside from all over the world. The friendships, knowledge, and experiences we've gained here will stay with us long after this trip is over.
We also want to thank all of our sponsors and supporters back home who helped make this journey possible. Your belief in our athletes and our program gave these fighters an opportunity many only dream about. We are incredibly grateful for your support.
Over the past couple weeks, the boys have put in the work every single day. They arrived hungry to learn and improve, and they're leaving camp sharper, stronger, more confident, and more prepared than when they arrived. You should all be proud!
Tomorrow, we'll attend the opening ceremony at Rajadamnern Stadium, one of the most historic and prestigious venues in Muay Thai. Since opening in 1945, Rajadamnern has been home to some of the greatest fighters in the sport and remains one of the most iconic stadiums in the world nearly 80 years later.
And on Friday, it's time.
The training is done.
The preparation is complete.
Now we get to show the world what Team Canada has been working for.
🇨🇦🥊 The boys are ready.
Let's make our supporters proud, represent Canada with honor, and leave it all in the ring.
🇨🇦🔥🥊
Royal City Muay Thai
Royal City Muay Thai focuses on developing real world self protection skills by using the art of '8 limbs'.
We focus on building strength, flexibility and cardio. Our goal is to bring the art of authentic Muay Thai to the Guelph community.
🇹🇭 WHY THAI OIL MASSAGE IS A FIGHTER'S SECRET WEAPON 🇹🇭
Training hard is only part of the equation. Recovery is where the body adapts, heals, and comes back stronger.
Thai oil massage has been used by Muay Thai fighters for generations to help:
✅ Increase blood flow to tired muscles
✅ Reduce muscle tightness and stiffness
✅ Improve flexibility and mobility
✅ Speed up recovery between training sessions
✅ Relieve soreness from pad work, clinching, sparring, and running
✅ Help prevent injuries caused by overuse and muscle imbalances
✅ Promote relaxation and better sleep
When you're training multiple times a day, your recovery becomes just as important as your workouts. Taking care of your body allows you to train harder, perform better, and stay consistent.
Remember:
🥊 Training breaks the body down.
💪 Recovery builds it back up.
Whether you're a fighter preparing for competition or a student training for fitness, investing in recovery is investing in your performance.
Train hard. Recover harder. 🇹🇭🔥
🇹🇭🥊 TRAINING CAMP REALITY CHECK 🇨🇦
One of the biggest mistakes athletes make in Thailand is focusing only on training.
Everyone wants to hit pads, spar, clinch, and run.
Very few athletes take nutrition, hydration, sleep, and recovery as seriously as they take training.
The reality?
The athlete who recovers the best is often the athlete who performs the best.
✅ Hydrate
✅ Replace electrolytes
✅ Eat enough carbohydrates
✅ Get your protein in
✅ Prioritize sleep
✅ Recover between sessions
Training twice a day in the Thailand heat is demanding. If you're not fueling and recovering properly, it will eventually catch up to you.
Remember: recovery isn't being lazy. Recovery is preparation for your next performance.
Train hard.
Recover harder.
CAN'T STOP THESE GUYS FROM LEVELING UP 🔥
Day by day. Round by round. Rep by rep.
While most people are sleeping, making excuses, or waiting for motivation... these guys are showing up, putting in the work, and earning every step forward. There are no shortcuts in Muay Thai — just consistency, discipline, and the willingness to keep improving.
It's not just about becoming better fighters. It's about becoming stronger human beings mentally, physically, and emotionally.
Proud to watch the growth, the effort, and the mindset shift happening in this room.
For those who didn't get an opportunity to grade this time around — keep showing up. Keep sharpening your basics, your mindset, your timing, your habits, and your discipline. This is a lifelong journey, not a race. Every class, every correction, every round adds up. Your time will come.
Progress doesn't stop here... we're only building stronger foundations 👊
Safe to say our first wrestling class was a hit 🔥

Huge shoutout to Gavin with .leather for an awesome leather workshop at Royal City Muay Thai. Everyone made their own custom passport/notebook while learning real techniques — edge sanding, gluing, beveling the edges, burnishing with a wooden slicker, saddle stitching and finishing it off with foil embossing for that final touch.
Extra creativity award goes to Nicholas and Amirah 😂👏
Thank you to everyone who came out and supported our RCMT athletes heading to Thailand this June 🇹🇭👊
Until next time! 🧵🪡

We started with Muay Thai — now we’re building the ground game. This is just the beginning.
We’re excited to welcome Dave Garvin to the team as we begin introducing wrestling into our program.
Dave brings a lifetime of experience to the mats — from competing at the highest level in Canada to spending decades developing athletes. He’s been part of the Canadian national team for 7 years, a former freestyle and Greco Roman national champion, and has over 40 years of wrestling experience. For the past 20+ years, he’s been coaching, including over a decade working specifically with MMA athletes.
More than anything, what stood out to me was his passion for the sport and his willingness to give back and help grow the next generation.
We’re excited to start introducing wrestling into our program. We’re testing the waters to begin with, but we truly believe this is something that will grow into a long-term addition for the team.
Right now, this is a free trial class — take advantage of it and come experience it for yourself.
Our first class with Dave Garvin will be:
Saturday, May 9
12:00–1:30 PM
Wrestling will expose holes in your balance, pressure, and clinch control — and fix them.

If you missed Songkran this year… you missed something special.
We brought the Thai New Year to life at RCMT— and the energy was unreal.
We had the dunk tank going, water guns spraying from every direction, and water balloons flying all over the place. No one stayed dry for long. Coaches, fighters, members… nobody was safe.
But beyond all the fun, we also stayed true to tradition. We shared in the water blessing — a meaningful part of Thai culture symbolizing cleansing, renewal, and respect as we welcome a new year.
It was the perfect mix of culture, community, and controlled chaos — all while supporting our fighters on their journey.
If you missed it this year… don’t make that mistake again.
Next year will be even bigger. 💧🔥
