🥋 6AM BJJ?! YOU GUYS SHOWED UP! 🔥

We trialed our first BJJ class this morning at 6AM and WOW — Coach Jack was seriously impressed with how many people showed up ready to work that early! 👏

Not a bad way to start the day 🌞💪

We’re trialing BJJ over the next couple of weeks, and after this morning’s turnout… it’s looking promising! 👀

WHAT A FULL WEEKEND! 🙌🔥

This weekend, some of our Coaches got together for a team outing at Escape Game Entertainment Waterloo — and we ESCAPED with plenty of time to spare! 😂🧠💪It was a great chance for some of our Coaches who hadn’t met yet to connect, have some fun, and put our brains to work instead of our 8 limbs for once! 🥊😂

Afterwards, we had to refuel! We stopped by our Preferred Partner Slap Burgers at their very first location in Waterloo for some AMAZING smash burgers, fries, and matcha ice cream! 🍔🍟🍦 If you’re in Waterloo, make sure you check them out! Thanks for filling out tummies ♥️

The very next day, we were back at it at the Connection Expo at Guelphs Farmers’ Market, sharing everything Royal City Muay Thai has to offer — Muay Thai, MMA, Wrestling, and more! 🥊🤼‍♂️🔥

Huge thank you to Georgia and Friends of Friends for bringing the community together! ❤️ We met so many great people, connected with other local businesses, and had some awesome conversations throughout the day.

That's what today's training was all about. You got better!

A huge thank you to TNT Boxing for coming out to Royal City Muay Thai for some great rounds. Opportunities like this remind us that growth happens when we step outside our comfort zone, sharpen our skills, and learn from one another.

The goal isn't to be better than someone else—it's to be better than you were yesterday.

We're proud to be part of a combat sports community that supports one another. When gyms come together with respect and the shared goal of helping each other improve, everyone grows.

Thank you to everyone from TNT Boxing and RCMT who came out to spar and represented your teams with respect, humility, and a willingness to learn.

Our very first MMA class was a huge success! A big thank you to everyone who came out and helped make the launch such a great one. The energy, focus, and willingness to learn made for an incredible first session.

A special shoutout to Coach Jaxon Proud for leading an outstanding class. His technical knowledge, attention to detail, and passion for coaching really set the tone for what's to come. We're excited to continue building this program with him leading the way!

From Guelph to the world stage. 🇨🇦🥊

What an unforgettable journey for our Team Royal City Muay Thai athletes representing Team Canada at the Amazing Muay Thai Festival in Thailand.

For many of these athletes, this was their first time in Thailand—training in the birthplace of Muay Thai, learning from incredible coaches at Muay Thai Academy MTA sharpening their skills over the past couple weeks, and then stepping into the ring to compete on an international stage.

Many of our fighters faced opponents with far more experience and championship belts to their names, but they never backed down. They fought with heart, courage, and represented themselves, our gym, and Canada with pride.

Although we didn't get every result we were hoping for—whether due to injuries, unintentional low blow or a cut stoppage—you all have so much to be proud of. Wins and losses are part of the journey, but the experience, growth, and lessons gained here are something that can never be taken away.

As your coaches, we couldn't be prouder of the way you carried yourselves both inside and outside the ring. This trip has made you stronger, more confident, and even more motivated for what's next.

We're excited to get back home and watch you continue your journey and compete again in Canada.

🔥 From Canada to the Heart of Muay Thai 🔥

Today marked our final training session in Thailand.

A huge thank you to Denis Puric for recommending that we stay and train at Muay Thai Academy MTA It has been an incredible experience for our team.

A special thank you to Kru เพชรเมืองไทย ก. เอกลักษณ์ยิม , Kru Jack, all of the Krus, staff, and the Nak Muays we've had the opportunity to meet and train alongside from all over the world. The friendships, knowledge, and experiences we've gained here will stay with us long after this trip is over.

We also want to thank all of our sponsors and supporters back home who helped make this journey possible. Your belief in our athletes and our program gave these fighters an opportunity many only dream about. We are incredibly grateful for your support.

Over the past couple weeks, the boys have put in the work every single day. They arrived hungry to learn and improve, and they're leaving camp sharper, stronger, more confident, and more prepared than when they arrived. You should all be proud!

Tomorrow, we'll attend the opening ceremony at Rajadamnern Stadium, one of the most historic and prestigious venues in Muay Thai. Since opening in 1945, Rajadamnern has been home to some of the greatest fighters in the sport and remains one of the most iconic stadiums in the world nearly 80 years later.

And on Friday, it's time.

The training is done.
The preparation is complete.
Now we get to show the world what Team Canada has been working for.
