49er Worlds 2022: 23rd Overall.
Year one in the books for us. Really proud of what we have accomplished this year, have hung in there through the ups and downs and made major improvements every time we have tested ourselves against the the best.
It wasn’t to be for us this week in Canada. This regatta really highlighted a few key weaknesses that we will be spending our summer improving at home. Really happy to have made gold fleet at our first worlds but disappointed we couldn’t find our best at the same time.
Really excited for what’s to come and ready to make a big leap forward next year. A massive thank you to everyone who’s made this year possible and the rest of the Aussie squad and Euan our coach who’ve been with us every step of the way.
Until next time, goodbye!

Qualifying complete at the Worlds! Now for some gold fleet racing!
Really tough day today, added another race win which was nice but a lot of snakes and ladders in the other three races. Happy to be trending in the right direction and ready to give it all we have tomorrow.

Better day 2 for the team. Did some good things for most of the day just let ourselves down with some bad starting today.
4 more races of qualifying tomorrow to keep getting locked in.

U23 World Championship:🥈
After a long week of sailing here in Lake Como we finished in second overall. Super proud of how far we have come since we teamed up in 2020, a little frustrated that we started on the back foot this week but happy to have shown what we can do over the last three days. We did all we could yesterday to close the gap but it was a bridge too far in the end.
Congratulations to the Poles for defending their title, showed us how consistent we have to be to reach the next level. Thanks to and for the support this week on and off the water and to Euan at home for checking in at ungodly hours from Sydney.
We will have a few days off then pack our bags to head to Canada to begin preparing for the Worlds, our last and most important event of the year.

Qualifying wrapped up in Lake Como at the Jnr Worlds.
We got off to a slow start but have found some form and hopefully can carry that through to the last two days of the regatta!

24th at the Europeans.
After a good qualifying series we couldn’t seem to catch a break in finals. Bittersweet feeling as we leave Aarhus, while it was a disappointing result for us, it was a great week for our squad and teammates with Jim, Shaun, Joel and Tom in the medal race - proving that we have done some good things in our time away training.
Now we head off to Italy for some time off and then training for the Junior Worlds in Como. Super excited for what’s to come, if one things for sure we will be back smarter and faster next time.
