We're used to seeing them in sunglasses and singlets, but our Athletics East members of Team Nova Scotia/ Nunavut were looking pretty spiffy at the Legion National Track and Field Championships wrap-up celebration in Regina last night.
We couldn't be more proud of this crew. They represented our club and our province tremendously well. They are among the best in the nation and one of our biggest club contingents at nationals ever (if not the biggest!).
Thank you to the Legion team who year after year put on an amazing championship event for young Canadian athletes.
And a special congrats to medalists Emma Laycock and Scarlet Mason who both ran their way to podium finishes. What a way to wrap up outdoor season 2026!

We hosted our first ever club summer celebration at the track this week.
It was a chance to celebrate our Atlantics medal winners (our club placed third overall!), the athletes who competed with us for the first time this year, and the countless PBs achieved.
It was also an opportunity to say farewell to our high school seniors, thank our coaches, and give a rousing send off to our athletes bound for Legion nationals in Regina next week (good luck!!!).
Thanks, all, for a great outdoor track and field season!

The Atlantic Track and Field Championships held at the wonderful new facility in Truro last weekend included so many achievements for our athletes - one post could never capture it all.
And while medals are amazing, perhaps what stood out the most is the growth. So many athletes hit new PBs. Others tried new events. Many stepped out of their comfort zones.
We’re super proud of every single Athletics East athlete who competed.
A huge thanks to the coaches, volunteers, and families who made the meet possible. A very special thank you to Athletics NS and the host Truro Lions for putting on such a great event.
Anyone who says Track and Field isn’t a team sport has never experienced a meet like last weekend’s. The support, encouragement, sportsmanship, and team spirit spoke for themselves.
Congratulations, all!
