We are seeking funding partners to support the future of the BLT Rails to Trails. - B.L.T. Rails to Trails 02/13/2026

The B.L.T. Rails to Trails Association is inviting businesses, community organizations, and supporters to participate in our five year funding agreement program, designed to provide stable, long term support for the BLT trail.

This funding partnership program supports essential trail maintenance, safety improvements, infrastructure upkeep, and overall sustainability. A multi year approach allows us to plan responsibly, respond to infrastructure needs, and ensure the trail remains safe and accessible for the community.

We are currently looking for funding partners who share our commitment to outdoor recreation, community well-being, and environmental stewardship.

Please note that the B.L.T. Rails to Trails Association is a registered non profit organization but does not currently hold CRA charitable status and, as a result, is unable to issue charitable tax receipts.

Seeking committed community volunteers - B.L.T. Rails to Trails 02/13/2026

The B.L.T. Rails to Trails Association is seeking committed community volunteers to help guide the future of the BLT Trail and ensure this important community asset continues to be maintained and developed.

We are currently recruiting for the following volunteer leadership positions:
• Chairperson
• Vice Chair
• Treasurer
• Corporate Secretary
• Additional Board Members (Min of 3)

Board members play a key role in the stewardship and oversight of the trail. Responsibilities include:
• Managing and maintaining the trail
• Applying for and writing grant applications (including submitting final reports)
• Determining scope of work and project priorities
• Working with contractors on trail repairs and improvements
• Completing basic trail maintenance
• Working with the Province, HRM, and other stakeholders regarding trail status
• Maintaining the Association’s membership
• Supporting and maintaining social media and website content

The expected time commitment for most Board roles is approximately 5 to 10 hours per week. The Chairperson role requires a greater commitment, approximately 20 or more hours per week.

This is a meaningful opportunity to contribute to your community, support outdoor recreation, and help shape the long term future of the BLT Trail.

We are out here handing out bike bells until 1pm! Come on by and grab a bell or take a snack break!

Join us Saturday, October 25th for our last Bike Safety Event of the year! We will have a table set up by the trail’s entrance near parking lot and the Coca-Cola plant where we will be handing out bicycle bells. We will be set-up from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, so stop by and say hi! 🚲
