Maddy White has been one of the most dangerous perimeter scorers in the league and gives Thunder another high-level offensive weapon alongside their playmakers and rebounders.
Her production through 3 games:
* 13.7 points per game
* 2.0 rebounds
* 1.0 assist
* 1.7 steals
* Only 1.3 turnovers
* +10.0 plus/minus
What stands out immediately is her scoring efficiency and shot profile.
Scoring Ability
Maddy is producing efficiently from both inside and outside:
* 47.1% on two-point shots
* 35.0% from three
* 49.5 TS%
She averages:
* 2.3 made threes per game
* on high volume (6.7 attempts)
That’s significant because volume shooters change defensive spacing even when percentages aren’t elite. Defenders have to stay attached to her, which opens driving lanes and creates easier opportunities for teammates.
Offensive Role
She profiles as a true scoring guard/wing:
* floor spacer
* transition scorer
* perimeter shot creator
* catch-and-shoot threat
Unlike some high-volume scorers, she also protects possessions fairly well:
* only 1.3 turnovers per game
That’s a strong ratio considering her offensive responsibility.
Defensive Impact
The 1.7 steals per game suggest active hands and good anticipation defensively. She’s contributing beyond scoring and helping Thunder generate transition opportunities.

Elizabeth Beals-Iseyemi has been one of the premier all-around players in the league and a major reason for Thunder’s success early on.
Her numbers jump off the page:
* 18.0 points per game
* 9.2 rebounds
* 4.0 assists
* 2.2 steals
* Nearly 26 minutes per game
What makes her especially impressive is how complete her game is. She’s not just scoring — she’s impacting every phase of the game.
Efficiency & Scoring
* 47.4% on two-point attempts
* 39.1% from three
* 75% from the line
* 54.3 TS%
That combination is rare. She’s scoring efficiently at all three levels:
* inside finishes
* perimeter shooting
* free throws
Her three-point shooting is especially valuable because it stretches defenses while still allowing her to rebound and attack physically.
Rebounding & Physical Presence
At 9.2 rebounds per game, she’s operating almost like a forward while producing guard/wing scoring numbers. She consistently finishes possessions and creates transition opportunities after defensive rebounds.
Playmaking & Defense
The 4.0 assists show she’s creating offense for teammates, not simply hunting shots. Add in 2.2 steals per game and you get a player who:
* pressures passing lanes
* creates fast breaks
* changes momentum defensively
Winning Impact
Her +29.8 plus/minus is among the strongest in the dataset. Thunder consistently outperforms opponents when she’s on the floor.

Ava MacNutt has been one of the more balanced and efficient guards in the league so far. Across 4 games she’s averaging:
* 7.8 points
* 4.5 assists
* 3.2 rebounds
* 2.2 steals
* 23:55 minutes per game
What stands out most is her all-around impact and efficiency:
* Shooting 53.3% from two-point range
* 75% from the free throw line
* 54.3 TS% (very solid overall efficiency)
* +9.5 plus/minus
She’s functioning as a true two-way playmaker for Thunder. The assist numbers show she’s creating offense consistently, while the 2.2 steals per game suggest strong defensive anticipation and pressure on the ball.
Compared to many guards in this dataset:
* She takes care of the ball reasonably well (1.8 turnovers)
* Contributes in multiple categories
* Impacts winning without needing high shot volume
Her profile looks more like a “connector” guard rather than a pure scorer:
* facilitates offense
* pushes transition
* defends aggressively
* makes efficient decisions

After a tough battle against the Halifax Thunder on Saturday, the Hornets had little time to recover before hitting the road for a noon matchup today. Despite the quick turnaround, the Hornets responded with a strong performance, defeating the Truro Tidal Queens 82-43.
The team showed great energy on both ends of the floor and continued to battle hard throughout the weekend stretch. Here are some images from Saturday’s matchup against the Thunder.

The rivalry between the Halifax Thunder and the Halifax Hornets delivered another exciting chapter on Saturday, with the Thunder remaining undefeated this season after a hard-fought 78–63 victory over their crosstown rivals.
The intensity was there from start to finish, as both teams battled through a physical and energetic game that kept fans engaged throughout the action. Rivalry games always seem to bring out another level of competitiveness, and this matchup was no different.
The Thunder continue to build momentum early in the season, but the Hornets showed plenty of fight and will no doubt be eager for the rematch. Looking forward to seeing the next meeting between these two teams and how the rivalry continues to grow.

That’s a tough opening result, but honestly pretty typical for an expansion team finding its footing. The Truro Tidal Queens are stepping into a competitive environment right away, especially going up against a strong, established squad like the Halifax Thunder.
What matters more than the first scoreline is what comes next. Early in a season like this, you’re usually watching for:
* how quickly team chemistry develops
* whether roles start to solidify
* defensive adjustments from game to game
* and which players emerge as leaders
Expansion teams often make their biggest leap mid-season once they settle in and get a few reps together. If they stay committed to development and build confidence, you’ll likely see a much different team by the second half.
Given how strong basketball culture is around the area, they’ll have support—and that goes a long way in a first season. Curious to see how they respond in their next matchup.
