Hobby Horse Class at The Great Lakes Carriage Classic
All are welcome to join the fun Hobby Horse Class held on Sunday, July 26 around noon hour.
The hobby horse is provided and there is no entry fee or specific equipment required for the participant.
The hobby horses (that also neigh) may be bought on site for $20.
Each competitor ‘trots’ around a timed obstacle course on their hobby horse. (Penalties for breaking to canter.)
All receive a participant ribbon with a prize for the fastest youth and fastest adult.
An entry form must be completed and the participant or guardian must sign the show’s two waivers.

Vendor Profile: A Touch of Porch Magic Décor
The GLCC is pleased to welcome Lisa Naylor of A Touch of Porch Magic Décor (page, ) to this year’s show.
With uniquely hand painted wooden décor bursting with charm, creativity and whimsy, all are sure to enjoy Lisa’s boards, planters, birdhouses and animal creatures.
Lisa prize donation for the GLCC is two lovely planters as shown above and two gift baskets. Each gift basket contains a bottle of Ontario wine, 2 crystal wine flutes and horse themed, hand painted drink coasters and a decorative board. We look forward to Lisa joining us at the show and know all recipients will enjoy her generous donations

Whether carriage driver or rider, all are welcome to compete in the Long Lining Class at The Great Lakes Carriage Classic.
Saturday July 25 around noon hour, participants will each perform an individual test in the Agricultural Event Centre of The Ancaster Fairgrounds.
Class Cost is only $25 per competitor (all in). When this class is combined with the Harnessing Class, the competitor is eligible for the GLCC Non Driven Trophy.
Participant may either walk behind the horse or work from the centre of the circle.
SET COURSE
Walk a 20 metre circle to left and halt
Perform walk figure of 8 and halt
Perform trot figure of 8 and halt
Rein back 5 steps and then walk up and halt.
Walk a 20 metre circle to right and leave the ring.

STABLING AT ANCASTER FAIR GROUNDS
Pre-Show Stabling
Indoor stabling and RV sites +/- power at the Ancaster Fairgrounds are available from Monday afternoon, July 20 to Ship in Day, July 23 for an additional fee. Ancaster Fairgrounds require six weeks advance booking notice for these stalls. A responsible individual must be on-site from 4pm to 7am each day that their equine is on the Ancaster Fairgrounds during this period. Must be arranged with Jean McLean through email [email protected]
Show Stabling is available from Thursday July 23rd at 10 a.m. until Monday July 27th at 9 a.m. All equines staying overnight on the grounds must have an indoor stall at the cost of $200 per stall for duration or on a one-night basis for $100. One equine per stall except VSE’s where maximum two per stall when owned by the same person. In accordance with rental property rules all stalls must have shavings when accommodating an equine. Stalls have cement floors and water is from buckets in stalls. A stall deposit is required from each competitor using a stall and this deposit is returned on their departure after inspection of their clean stall/s.

The 2026 Great Lakes Carriage Classic will have three social events during the show.
Friday, July 24: Corn Roast and Combined Test Day Awards Ceremony - $35 pp
Saturday, July 25: GLCC Casual Dinner - $45 pp
Sunday, July 26: Pleasure Awards Ceremony with Complementary Boxed Meal
All are welcome and encouraged to attend these events. Tickets for the meals may be purchased through the GLCC website : Competitor Section/ Entry form in both the Competitor and Not Competitor sections.
