Roselawn Lawn Bowling Club

Ancaster Lawn Bowling Club is hosting the District 5 playdowns for Men's Pairs & Women's Pairs on Saturday & Sunday, June 17 & 18. Entry is limited to District 5 club members only and the entry deadline is June 6th. First place in both Men and Women Pairs will have a paid entry into the Provincial Playdowns. Entry fee will be $40 per team.

Labour Day BBQ is still on for tomorrow (Sept 5th). If you plan on bowling, please be there by 10:45am to get on a team for a 10 end jitney. BBQ scheduled for noon - eat indoors if weather is uncooperative. Hope to see you there!

Congratulations to Greg Hilvers for bowling this weekend in the Novice Singles Tournament in Burlington. It was a difficult time for Greg just losing his Mom but he made a valiant effort and Roselawn is proud of him.

Calendar - Roselawn Lawn Bowling Club

Welcome again to a new season of lawn bowling for 2022! We hope everyone had a safe and happy winter and is immunized and ready for the year ahead.

The Board of Directors is monitoring current pandemic regulations in order to determine when we can safely play and what protocols, if any, would be necessary.

We are hoping to resume play on May 2, weather permitting. This date may be dependent on the City. Please monitor the club website for updates regarding the opening date. A return to
play plan is being prepared and will be presented as soon as the City’s regulations are known.

The tentative timeline for the club re-opening is as follows:

May 1 – Annual General Meeting

May 2 – start of 2-week Learn to Bowl sessions with a BBQ on May 14 (Learn to Bowl sessions to be held 1-3 pm and 6-8 pm on Tuesdays and Fridays)

May 14 – BBQ to include mini tournament with cash prizes

At this time, we anticipate that the following club activities will resume: (June, July August)

Manic Mondays – 10 am, bring your own lunch and refreshments, conveners Mary and Nancy;

4-3-2-1 – 6:30 pm Tuesday evenings, convener Ken Cowling

Jack Attack – 6:30 pm Thursday evenings, free pizza, conveners Stephen and Pat McNab
