Leander Boat Club in Hamilton welcomed 125 participants into its First Strokes program, making it the biggest beginner Learn to Row program ever in Canada. 🚣🇨🇦

The program gave participants the opportunity to discover rowing, learn the fundamentals, meet new people, and experience what being part of the club is all about.

Even better, many chose to continue rowing after the program and are now staying involved with the club.

A huge congratulations to the coaches, volunteers, and everyone at Leander Boat Club who helped make the program such a success. 🙌

Our Development Crews brought the heat to Hogtown Heats this past weekend in Toronto🔥💪

In a great first racing opportunity, our Junior Development crews brought home gold in both the U19 Women’s 2x and Men’s U19 2x 🥇🥇

Unfortunately, the weather cancelled racing for our Second Strokes crews later in the day, but they made the most of their first regatta, smiling through it all😁🙌

Hammer the Harbour 2026🔨🚣

On Saturday, Leander partnered with RowOntario to host the inaugural Hammer the Harbour regatta. It was a great day with lots of close and competitive racing!

Thank you to all of the volunteers, umpires, coaches and athletes who supported the event and made for a fun day of racing!

A special thank you to Maple Tree Farm for their generous contribution of maple syrup for the winners of each event. Congrats to all the champions who got to bring home a bottle of their sweet maple syrup!🍁

Join us at Leander Boat Club for Summer Youth Rowing Camp! Open to ages 11+, our Monday-to-Friday camps run throughout July and August and are perfect for both beginners and experienced athletes.

Whether you're looking to try something new, stay active over the summer, or gain an edge in your primary sport through cross-training, rowing is a great way to build strength, endurance, teamwork, and confidence.

No experience is required. Come make new friends, challenge yourself, and enjoy time on the water!
