Medal Monday Shoutout! 📢
Ricky clocked a 3:59:16 at the BQ.2 Marathon in Geneva, Illinois. The conditions were heavily humid, leading to a high DNF rate across the field. Ricky didn't force a rigid plan when the course turned hot. He adjusted his pacing and made it across the line healthy and strong.
This is what smart racing looks like.
Great work adapting to a tough day, Ricky!!

Ten years old and showing serious grit on the mountain. After completing a leg at the Castle Alpine Trail Race for two consecutive years as the youngest athlete on the course, Runa is officially looking for a team spot for 2026.
She previously ran a team with Mom. However, Jess has The Four Horsemen in her sights this year, creating this opportunity for Runa to branch out.
She is looking for a 'fun' team ~ any other youths on the fence? An adult team with the goal to complete the course? Runa just wants to run, have a lot of fun, and she will get it done.
If your CAT relay team has an open leg and wants a young runner who will show up, have fun, and get it done, send a DM. Let’s get her on the start line!

Sunday is almost here, Ricky. You’ve navigated the daily chaos, logged the necessary miles, and done the honest work to prepare for the BQ.2 Marathon. 🏃
This weekend isn't the final destination of your athletic journey; however, it is a significant stepping stone along your path. You are ready to execute exactly what you’ve spent months practicing as a resilient human being. Trust the pacing strategy, stick to your hydration & fuelling plan, and lean on the biological capacity you've built. 💪
Have the best race the course will give you! 💥

Jessica just secured her second Sinister Triple buckle. 🏔️ 💥 💯
Three ultras. Six weeks.
The Sinister 7, Canadian Death Race, and Black Spur Ultra.
We do not sell suffering for the sake of it; we sell vitality and the physical capacity to handle whatever life throws at you.
Achieving this triple is not an accident. It is a masterclass in fitting training into the chaos. Jess is a wife, working part-time, homeschool teacher and mom to a 7 and 10-year-old. She pulled this off through 80/20 polarized training and a relentless focus on recovery. Instead of breaking down or burning out, she protected her energy and stayed remarkably resilient, leaning heavily on her Circle of Success to get to every single start line feeling healthy and capable.
She is not stopping here.
Next up: The Four Horsemen buckle. On September 19th, she steps to the line at the Castle Alpine Trail Race. That means 28km of rugged mountain terrain at Castle Mountain Resort, packing 2,250 meters (7,382 feet) of elevation gain and loss, all within an 8.5-hour cut-off.
I can count on my fingers how many Four Horsemen buckles have ever been awarded. Jess is about to add her name to that very short list.

The 2026 Black Spur Ultra is officially in the books. 🏔️
It was a privilege for Redde Endurance Coaching to be on site this year sponsoring the 3rd place Male, Female, and Mixed teams.
To everyone who connected with us throughout the weekend, thank you! We had incredible conversations with athletes, support crews, and cheer squads. Witnessing the raw ex*****on of the Circle of Success, the families and crews actively managing the chaos so the athletes could perform is exactly what true vitality looks like.
The conditions Saturday threw a massive curveball, with temperatures spiking considerably hotter than forecasted. Tackling a course of this magnitude under that acute heat stress requires an immense baseline of biological capacity, preparation, and sheer grit.
If you listened to your biology and pulled the plug early, a DNF does not take away from the fact that you still toed the line. You put in the work to get there; however, biological efficiency and longevity always supersede a finisher's medal. You built resilience.
To every single athlete who showed up and started, congratulations!

Medal Monday: Black Spur Ultra Edition 🌲
This weekend wasn't about seeking out suffering. It was about testing our biological efficiency and sharing true vitality with the next generation.
Jessica executed a massive day on the trails, finishing the 54k in 11:26:09. The work she puts in behind the scenes to fit training into the chaos of life pays off when the terrain gets relentless. This also was her 3rd ultra within 6 weeks!
A fun metric of the weekend, however, wasn't found on a GPS watch. It was watching the kids step up to the start line and discover their own capacity.
💥 Runa | 34:57
💥 Eirik | 39:02
💥 Braelyn | 34:55
Incredible work out there on the trails, Team Redde Endurance!

Unwritten Rules of the Trail, Pool & Road 🏊♂️🚴♂️🏃♂️
Ever accidentally tapped someone’s foot in the lap lane or called out a pass a second too late on a tight single-track? Endurance sports have a steep learning curve, and the unwritten rules aren't always obvious to new or experienced athletes.
In Episode 18 of The Endurance Balance, Coach JW, Alicia, and Anne drop a friendly "what you don't know can help you" guide to keeping our community safe and smooth:
→ The Pool & Road: Demystifying circle swimming, toe-tapping etiquette, and how to safely hold your line in a paceline without half-wheeling.
→ Trail Rules: Why uphill runners always get the right-of-way, early vocal warnings, and Leave No Trace basics. →Transition Zone Triage: The 2x2 gear organization rule (stop using transition as a personal closet!) and honest swim seeding.
