As a goalie coach, there’s nothing better than watching years of hard work, development and commitment start paying off.

Isaac has been training with Goalies by Doug for over two years, and his progression has been incredible.

He’s gone from playing B hockey, to earning a spot with Cambridge A/AA, and now he has officially been named an AP with the AAA team.

That’s a massive jump in just over two years.

And he isn’t just playing at the AA level — he’s already making an impact and proving he belongs there.

This is what development is all about at Goalies by Doug. We don’t train goalies just to get through another season. We work on building the technical ability, athleticism, confidence, hockey IQ and consistency needed to keep moving up.

Isaac earned this opportunity through his work ethic and commitment. Our job is to keep pushing him, developing his game and preparing him for the next opportunity.

B → A/AA → AAA AP.

What a year already — and we’re just getting started.

🥅 Congratulations to Hayden on a great start — his first AA game and his first SHUTOUT!

I probably don’t post these accomplishments as often as I should, but our goalies deserve the recognition.

Since preseason hockey began, 17 GoaliesbyDoug goaltenders have already recorded shutouts!

A shutout is never just about making saves. It’s about positioning, patience, tracking, rebound control, competing, and staying mentally focused for the full game.

Great work, Hayden, and congratulations to all of our GBD goalies who have started their seasons strong.

I’m extremely proud to share that longtime Goalie by Doug goalie, Elliot Yu, has been given the incredible opportunity to play NCAA Division 3 hockey! 🏒🥅

What an incredible journey it has been watching Elliot grow, develop, and chase his dream. Elliot first started training with me at GoaliesbyDoug when he was just 8 years old. From those early days to now earning an opportunity to play Division 3 hockey, it has been an absolute privilege to be part of his journey.

As a goalie coach, these are the moments you hope for—not just seeing a player reach the next level, but watching them grow into the person and athlete they have become along the way.

Congratulations, Elliot! You’ve worked incredibly hard for this opportunity, and I couldn’t be more proud of you. Enjoy every moment of this next chapter—you’ve earned it! 🥅❤️🖤

Goalies by Doug – Summer Skates Begin This Friday!

This Friday marks the start of the Goalies by Doug Summer Skates!

These sessions are designed specifically for goalies who want to improve their skating, movement, and overall athletic performance. There are no pucks and no shooting drills—the entire focus is on becoming a faster, more efficient, and more technically sound goalie.

Throughout each session we’ll work on:

Goalie athleticism
Explosive speed and acceleration
Edge control and edge efficiency
Core strength and stability
Balance and body control
Lateral movement
T-pushes and C-cuts
Shuffles and power shuffles
Butterfly slides and recoveries
Crease movement and angle adjustments
Post integration and post-to-post movement
Reaction time and coordination
Conditioning, endurance, and movement efficiency

These skates are perfect for goalies who want to build a stronger foundation and sharpen their movement before the upcoming season. The better you move, the more saves you’ll make.
